    red bugs

Dr. Katie Girsberger at Valley Vet and Dr. Patti Sledge at Peone Pines have both prescribed Interceptor for treating red bugs, also. You'll end up paying a vet visit probably, but once you get the prescription for them you should be set. The stuff isn't cheap, but worth it if you're freaking...

    Appetite for Cyclopeeze

The prawn eggs I've been getting are also fantastic food for small polyp corals. It's rumored you can get mandarins eating them readily, but I haven't had that sort of luck yet ;). Barbie

Hi Tim, Warm them up to 86 degrees minimum and try feeding frozen bloodworms. That definitely should work. Live blackworms are good food, but definitely not the only ones the fish should eat. They tend to be slow grazers. Warming them up will help. Barbie

    Red Pygmy Goby MIA

I'm glad to hear he turned up! I guess you don't have to worry about your six line picking on anyone now, oops. Barbie

    Boomer's PC Dead

This will do you absolutely no good now, but if you use firefox you can add a plug in called foxmarks that stores them online so you can then log in and load them onto any computer you're using. I too am lost without all my references when I log on from work and what not. I thought this was...

    flat worms

Skinny with spines coming off them are probably going to be some type of zoo eating nudibranch, not flatworms, which are, well, flat. If you do a search for berghia, they look quite a bit like them. Barbie

    Barbie's 120 gallon

OK, it's time to update again. I don't realize how much everything is grown until I look at the old pictures. The bulbs on the tank are now Ushio 20K and I think I'll be staying with these at least 6 months. I need to give the corals the same light long enough to see how they stabilize...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

They are absolutely adorable as puppies. Here's Cali two years ago, laying under my coffee table! Look at the size of those paws, hehe. Barbie

My old rottenweiler used to eat 3 cups of food a day, Cali and Sasha only eat 4. I feed them Canidae and a bag of food lasts them weeks, honestly. They aren't exactly high energy. Well, unless momma goes out in the snow at night and runs the red dot up and down the yard. I wish I could get...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Well to me they look normal, but I know they look huge to people that don't live with them, hehe. I see dogs that used to look large and they seem to have been washed in hot water or something! Cali weighs 135 pounds and her father weighed 230, to give you an idea ;)! Barbie

Since I wasn't able to go to work today, I thought I'd take some pictures of the girls playing. It's STILL snowing and we're well over 22 inches of snow on the porch so far. I thought I left Alaska for pete sake. Weeee! I love playing in the snow! You can't catch meeeee! Whoa, breaking...

how long will this one last ?

The wubba's used to last a long time here, until Cali realized the top ball was a tennis ball. After that, any new wubba MUST have the tennis ball free'd immediately! The most durable toys to date have been Galileo bones, basted knuckle bones (giant ones), and filled cow hooves. Our breeder...

need help with green turf like algea

You don't mention your water change regimen? The thing with water testing in situations like this is that you've got a great nutrient export system going. The hair algae itself is keeping all of the nutrient out of the tank. Additional water changes to increase alkalinity and reduce dissolved...

    Tank horror stories

Well the idea is to not let them get sucked into the pumps in the first place, but lots of times they can get themselves back out if you give them a chance ;). Ugh, Horror stories. Can I just make a list of things I've had to learn the hard way? ;) Don't leave the water running in the back...

    vodka dosing

It's funny that this thread is going on right now. I just last week decided to dose sugar in the 300 gallon coral display tank at the shop. When I started the store I used tap water and the topping up for that first year eventually brought the nitrates up above 10. I've never had nitrates at...

    Barbie's 120 gallon

Think that's what he meant when he told me "Hope you enjoyed it, you're never leaving me to take care of the store again!" I think I'll tell him I just interpreted it wrong and book my flights, now that you set me straight, hehe. I'll be sure to tell him it was thanks to you that I got...
