Thanks Charlie. The sand had been in there for about 22 months.

    Hooked's 90 Tank Rebuild

Most of the detritus is settling right up front where it will be easy to siphon. I plan to continue to use a split return on the CL when I add the UV, but I am going to use loc-line so I can make some adjustments. I'm happy with the flow, and I think the larger fish are loving it too...

    Hooked's 90 Tank Rebuild

Well Mike, while you're the first to announce it, you're certainly not the first to see it :D Thanks for the photojournal Nikki and thanks to both you and Nick for all of your help. Nikki got to my house at 11 am that day and stayed until 11 pm when we were done. That's a friend. And Nick...

    please help

Tunze makes 2 magnets for the streams. The 6080.50 is for pumps less that 45 watts, which would include your 6080 that is 17 watts.

    Corals losing color ???

I'll try to post before and after pics of the yellow cap tomorrow. I checked and I changed to the Phoenix bulbs on 4/23--about 3 weeks ago. I'd say the "bleaching" started almost two weeks ago. Nothing else has really changed. I use Phosban, but it has not been replaced during that time...

    Tunze stream vs. wavebox

Still wanting to hear from someone with a wavebox. :) I'm leaning toward the streams--does anyone use a controller to run them rather than the Tunze multicontroller?

    Tunze stream vs. wavebox

I'm wanting to increase the circulation in my tank. All seven of my returns are at the surface of the water--The turbulence is great there, but I feel like there are a lot of low flow areas in the bottom half of the tank. I don't currently have any "wavemaking" via alternating cycles. So, I...

    Katrina's 90 gallon Reef

after the second treatment, there weren't any of the really small pods visible. Now I see quite a few in the 'fuge. The mandarin looks like he's doing fine. By the way, those are new Phoenix bulbs. I really like the color. I adjusted the white balance when I took the pics--it's actually a...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I did a second treatment and saw a couple more in the slime coming off of 2 different corals. I still have pods although definitely not as many. I cleaned out my prop tank this weekend and found a lot of healthy "podzillas" in it. I know a guy locally that only did one treatment and they came...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

Actually I think it went pretty well Nick. Lost the crabs, but I still see some pods. It was really pretty painless (for me anyhow :) ) I think I'll do another dose next weekend. The tenuis that had the worst infestation appears to be clean, but it's still not extending its polyps like it...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I also wonder about developing Interceptor-resistant bugs. Is that really possible--you're exposed to a poison once and survive it, then you have a resistance to it? Just asking--I really don't know. My six hours is up and I see lots of dead red bugs. Only see a couple hanging on to my blue...

    Red Bugs - Inevitable?

I'm doing my first treatment today and am interested to know how many of you have done only one successfully. I thought 3 treatments were originally recommended as there was uncertainty about the larval stage. Per Eric B this is not an issue, so are 3 treatments necessary?
