    weird zoas

Hmmm...curious. I wonder if it's environmental or pathogenic? Maybe both? If it is environmental, wouldn't you have observed a more widespread response? Are the Magicians close to the 'warties'? Could it be an individual response to something in the water? (yer zoa has teh allergy...hehe)

    weird zoas

I'd be fascinated! It sounds like you, not so much. Maybe the new pics might change my mind...ahh! Look out it's Zoazilla!!LOL. Is it just that colony or do you have others showing odd growth? This may not be helpful and more anecdotal... I had something similar though far less severe happen...

    weird zoas

I found some pics of zoas doing strange things, perhaps you can add yours to these: http://www.coralpedia.com/index.php?module=Gallery2&g2_itemId=1020 You may end up with pink rhinos... or elephants if you prefer. ;)

    Pesticide spraying

Alex, that's really good news. I'm glad things worked out! No moonsuits or masks--always a good sign! Keep us posted! -Janet

    Pesticide spraying

I hope it works out, if not there's always the bubble. This kind of infestation often takes time eradicate with organics and your race is with a growing population. Sometimes the chemical option is a good way to ensure things don't get out of control (your house starts crawling on it's own)...

    Pesticide spraying

Alex- I'm sorry that this is a recurring problem, other than removing any and every stick of wood and living in a plastic bubble this may be a long fight. Would you be willing to use an off the shelf product and DIY? I would recommend using diatomaceous earth, if it does get into your tank no...

    Craziest thread ever!

I wanna help! I have a conflict for Sat. but if Sun is possible, I'm in. I'm not very tank savvy but I know the business end of a scraper and I take orders well. I'll work for tidbits of knowledge and wisdom. -Janet

New goodies with issues...some help, please?

Yay! more blastos! hmmm, pretty...wait, what is that? Peanut worm coming up through the tissue?!? :eek:OMG!wudoI do?! Should I remove it? If so, how?, and will it hurt the polyp? This blasto has a friend...I think it is an algae of some kind (Lobophora?, google yielded very little) or a...

    grass :p

How did I miss this? Sorry to chime in late....I love garden raving, I'm not nuts, just passionate about it. What is the obsession with keeping plants that don't want to grow here? HereFishy is right. The light, pH, and nutrient levels are all wrong for us to be keeping lawns. I would...

    20 gallon long........

I have the Current Dual Satellite model 1014 over my 20L. I'm still new to all this and my experience is limited so FWIW, I like it. Just set a couple of timers and there you have it- 24 hour system. HTH. See the specs here: http://www.current-usa.com/satellite.html

Thank you Mike, you are most helpful.

    doudle headed polyp

Is this a cause for concern? These polyps finally opened up after a week of sulking and one has two mouths. I didn't think that zoas could split so what is going on with this guy? Its growing in the middle of the colony. I've been nudi hunting and found three so far, could this have happened...

Ahhhh! So my idea needs to go the way of the majano! A little science and an imagination isn't always a good thing. LOL BTW, 'Dusty' has moved to the top of the rock today and indeed confirmed ID, now that I can see lethal injection is imminent. Thanks again Mike for patiently entertaining...

One of the coooolest things I have ever seen!!!

Sweet! I'm impressed, apply industrial methods on your home desktop. Not for me but I can definately see the rise on the compygeekometer. :) Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the temp. on the video card was effected because of the change in flow from adding the bubbles. I wonder if a chiller...

Mike, I apprieciate what you're telling me about head trouble off before it happens, thank you for that. I know you're trying to look out for my best interest and give me the best and long advised course of action. I will remove them. I'm not discounting what you are saying, just want to know...

LOFLMAO!!!!! That reminds me when I was on a nudibranch hunt yesterday. With the- one little, two little, three little nudibranchs. Does this qualify for the 'You know you're a dedicated reefer thread'? ...When you sing to your pests?

Well by export, I mean remove the whole thing, not goin' red queen on it. Convincing them to let go- a sharp and pointy stick usually gets 'em moving so I'll continue to employ that tool when it's eviction time. Yes, I'm a majano herder. LOL I do have other critters and...

Ok, confused again, let me elaborate. Please help me understand if my theory is flawed. I may be going about this all wrong, so I'll run it up the pole and see if it flies. If I export them rather than zapping them in the tank, would that not be a round-about of exporting nutrients that they...

    Friend or Foe

Thanks Mike. The one on the bottom is also a majano. It got burned by some toxic slime. They snag bits that are floating in the water column after Sir (the Sgt. Major Damsel in my avatar) has torn up larger meaty chunks. If I keep vigilant, I'm hoping to keep them on the clean-up crew and...
