    for sps that shouldnt be too much and as it is a 20 tall that should also give you good penetration down to the bottom even.

    no downgrading wasnt bad at all it is very much more managable, for some reason my temp is insanley stable and it is going to be mostly sps too. i really like this tank

    yes they need some light but actually none would be better (if you dont want a whole lot of algae) but very limited lighting cycle is recomended. As for the anemone and this being your very first sw tank i wouldnt even think about getting one... if i were you i would go with a power compact...

    Fragging a zoanthid colony

    why not see if you can just hack the rock in half? this way you can stil keep the large zoanthid colony. and what returnofsid said is pretty much any way to do it. good luck!!

    How do you KNOW that acros are getting enough flow?? do you look at the polyps or what? is there a rule of thumb that the polyps have to move fast or not? currently i have 1x hydor koralia 3 2x seio 820 in a 100 gallon plus a mag 9.5 for return. the dimensions are 48x24x18 im just getting...

    then you should be fine in the light covering the zoos. but it seems to be a bit dim over there (probably just the pic though) it looks like the zoos (or palys) are on a large rock can you move that? then you will have more room to work with (just my 2 cents) oh ya nice tank by the way

    siphon out as much as you can, keep up on your water changes. how big is you cuc?
