    just remember that corals grow and eat alge so if you slow the growth with temp you can expect that to be the trend across the board which may come back to bite you later. like mike said stable is the idea and 74-76 isnt bad

    the large ones can reproduce in the water colum so best bet is to get rid of them.. if you can shut off the return pump and fill the overflow with a ton of kalk it will nuke them in a day or 2 and then just siphon out the kalk mixture and rinse and repeat till clean of kalk

    the overflow looks good for less than 1000 gph like I said I would only use 700 gph but thats just me. the pic of melves sump is a split in the drain not the return and that should be fine
