    400 more gallons

Hey overgrown, I'm relatively close, and I'd love to check out your setup sometime. And I could certainly pick up a few pieces to make it worth your time. Just let us know if you're "open to the public" or at least willing to let some fellow hobbyists stop by. James

    Some cool fish

If you look real close, you can see the flash from my camera LOL ;)

    Some cool fish

Another that is even worse, but you can sort of see the color of the fish. It's got a bright blue splotch on each side, and a little spot near the head, and the signature yellow tail. Other than that, it's almost all black.

    Some cool fish

Here's a crappy shot of the little hippo tang...that fish won't sit still long enough to get a decent picture; and the photographer has serious issues.

    Some cool fish

You got me...I was hoping these recent posts would urge him to show off his new pets...LOL If I don't post pics in the next couple days, please feel free to give me a virtual kick in the rear.

What kind of bulbs do you use!

URIs are awesome. I honestly think that if I were restricted to one type of bulb, I'd choose VHOs. Absolutely the best color IMO.

    Answer And Ask

I think my one wish would be to be physically healthy and energetic...aahhh, to be 18 again....... I was gonna say $$$$ but that still wouldn't cure my aching back. What about you guys? Genie minus two....

    Some cool fish

Hey Gaby, I'll try to shoot a pic soon...right now I'm too lazy LOL. Shauna, that Tomini is SWEET. I was under the impression that they had the same habits as the Kole tangs...mine was more apt to rasping film algae from the glass than eating macro or hair algaes. I might consider one if...

    Some cool fish

Yeah, does anyone else have some pics of some of their coolest fish? I got a small hippo (pacific blue) tang recently that is almost totally black, except for a little blue and the trademark yellow tail... Not the coolest fish I've seen but a neat fish nonetheless.

    MOTM December 2005

No problem Jeff. I'm actually wrapping up my huge new frag system this week. I should have plenty of pics to take by this weekend. I can't wait to finally get it done. It seems as if I don't even pay any attention to the 180 anymore, I've been so busy trying to get the new frag tank finished...

    MOTM December 2005

Great Job, Jeff! I enjoyed reading your member of the month profile. I'm a member of the KISS club too and I've had pretty good success with this highly scientific method of reefkeeping LOL. Keep up the good work!!

    New tank pics from tonight.

That's it Clockwork! Mine's more of a solid teal though...It doesn't have those killer purple tips! The polyp structure is the same though...really unique, and people always comment favorably when they notice this piece in my tank. Is this considered an unusual or rare type of acro? And thanks...

    BB with coraline

That's awesome...I absolutely love the aquascaping. I like how there's multiple caves, holes, nooks, crannies, etc. LOL This is how I always try to scape my tanks...open all the way around and plenty of space in-between the rocks for the fish to swim and hide.

    BB with coraline

I think you'll love it Krish...The coraline grows really quickly, especially if you've got good flow and plenty of calcium for it to suck up ;)

    New tank pics from tonight.

Hey experts, Is the granulosa/loripes the third one from the bottom on the first set of pics? Just curious...I've got a good sized colony that has the same structure and people always comment on how "cool" it is...I'd love to have an idea of the scientific name... TIA

Which corals can you grow with VHO/T5 lighting.

I've seen some very nice systems with VHO only. And I've kept just about everything I can think of under VHOs at one time or another. I really don't think you can beat the colors you get under VHOs for most corals. You don't get quite as much growth though, as you (usually) do with halides...

    BB with coraline

Mungus, I don't know if this'll help, but I got my "starboard" (marine plyboard) from a local Boater's World store that just opened. Anywhere that sells supplies for boats (especially those stores that outfit saltwater boats) should have the starboard. It's the same material that people are...

    Eye candy of the day!!

What do you feed the angler? Feeder fish/silversides, something like that? Just curious. Cool fish.

Lets talk about- Clean up crews

Hey Shauna, I've had longspine urchins in the past...good algae eaters like most urchins but grow pretty large and are terrible about knocking over corals and frags. I've heard tuxedos aren't bad as well. I also personally think you did the right thing by removing the sally lightfoot...if...

Lets talk about- Clean up crews

Sorry, Saltytemple, I re-read my post and it is a little confusing...when I said that "some urchins eat coralline, which most people think is desirable," I really meant that the coralline was desirable, not the fact that the urchins would eat it ;) This was somewhat of a warning about...
