The Time Has Come!! 60 gal sps......

A little tip is to use silicone instead of teflon tape. Just smear in around the threads(dosn't have to be much) and screw it in, and that will just about always do the trick. It is a lot easier then wrapping with tape too.

    craziest tank ever

No biggie Bri, from what I understand there, that is just going to be the tank room/basement, and not the footing for the entire house.

    craziest tank ever

I would not call BS on Bill Wann. He is the most serious diy builder that I have ever seen. He is a builds all his own equipment including tanks (the 1500g he has now) skimmers/sumps/and all that. He built his own cnc machine to cut out all the parts, and has come up with some of the most...

    Camera choice?

I would not shy away from the online venders, but be sure to check them out on www.resellerratings.com That should give you a good idea of what kind of company they are. Watch out for the camera companies based in Brooklyn NY, they are really nasty, B+H is an exception to that. I can't speak...

    Camera choice?

I would probably steer clear of the sony, they are not a professional camera company. Canon and nikon, that is kinda like audi vs. bmw. The new N80 should be a great camera, a d200 stuck in a plastic body. The d200 won many camera of the year awards last year. The reason I went with nikon vs...

    Nikon 105mm micro

Matt, you dont' change your aparture with the lense. You put the mode dial on the top to "A" then you rotate the command dial on the back and it will change the apature, and automatically adjust the shutter speed to suit. If you read the manual it will thoroughly explain how to use your camera.

    Nikon 105mm micro

Photoshop is also very important, I dont' know if you are using it yet, but I think that it is the most important thing to have to make your pics look nice.

Just a little more help with my pluming please

hi there, welcome to the forum, and good job on building all your own sump and that! I also feel a little uncomfortable with that tubing that you selected, I would recommend using 'spaflex' you can buy it at the local pool and spa store, or at homedepot or lowes. It will connect to the...

    Painting acrylic tank

It is not recommended to paint it. A heat gun and some hot water and a lot of elbow greast will take that tan stuff off of the bottom. That stuff is real easy to get off of a new tank, but when they are used and it gets wet a couple times it really sticks on there.

    xm 20K

They do burn in a little, and it takes a little while to get used to them. I can't stand looking at tanks that are 10k anymore.
