    Finicky tank owner needs advice

That is really hard to do, esp with a smaller tank. I know that Fluval Edge has an aquarium that has very little exposed.

    Skimmer and CO2 scrubber question

You may just need to use some red slime control, it will kill off the cyanbacteria that is causing it. Clean as much as you can first, then use it. If you still have signs after 4-7 days then do 25% water change and hope that is the end of it. Good luck. :)

I finally gotten the quote I been waiting for

You need to do WAY more research!!!!! It is worth saving a dime, and in your case, it will be much more than that. I agree that you can get pvc MUCH cheaper and most things on your list. T5s, even 4 of them you don't have to spend that much either. Same thing with the UV (esp considering its not...

    Sand Question

Yeah, I would just get new sand. You would be better off to be safe, than sorry! Esp since you can't just take the top layer, which would be the only way I would even think about it. Let us know how things work out.

EuroReef Skimmer upgrade question, Potential new skimmer

I think that if budget isn't an issue I would be all over a Hydor skimmer......my dream setup skimmer!!! Just my 2 cents, I have only ever heard awesome things about them.

    green hair algae

Sounds like things are going in the right direction! Good to hear. I would certainly get some RO water, its the best option if you are going to have a healthy aquarium again soon. Good luck and hope things keep going in the right path for your tank in trouble.

    Broken t-5 in tank

That sounds like a nightmare, sounds like you did a great job thinking on your feet thought. The stuff in and around the bulbs can be some nasty stuff, but I would think that if it was going to start affecting your corals, you would real soon. Just keep an eye out and keep doing everything you...

    live rock

I agree that is depends on the size of your substrate or gravel to really determine how much you need. On average it's about 1-2lbs per gallon. Most pet stores or online sites can help suggest how much you need depending on what you are buying.

    Is this skimmer any good?

I have a 55 tank and I have been using a Coralife Needle Wheel skimmer and it has been great, smaller bubbles and well worth what I paid.

    PCI PS200 Skimmer

65g skimmer It might be a bit much for a 65g, but I just got a Tunze Doc Skimmer and love the thing!!! No problems, no worries with it(which is a first for me and skimmers). Just my two cents, good luck on your search.;)

I was just got rid of my Seaclone 100 and bought a Tunze Doc Skimmer. Have had great luck with it so far and its less noisy. Big bonus there! Good luck on your search.
