    cycle boost supplementation?

i dont know if this is worthy of the advanced topics forum, but what the hay right? i was wondering about the products that claim to boost your cycle or even make your tank cycle immediately. has anyone ever used these? i have heard some stories that they are worthless but also quite a few on...

    anemone with 4x54w ho?

you cant really measure light output by watts per gallon. measure it by par or pur. this is the best way to tell if your light system will work.

    anemone with 4x54w ho?

i have tried and failed numerous times trying to do a clown anemone tank. either the clownfish get so aggressive that they kill off one another or the tank just gets so crowded with different nems that they get cought in filters and powerheads and they end up killing eachother too and eating the...

75 Planted tank to a Reef

dude dont do bare bottom. if you do semi bare bottom the sand in front gives the illusion that there is sand all around the tank i would go that route if your eally want some bare bottom. but other than that sand isnt that much of a pain and bare bottomed tanks just dont looks good, or natural...

    Going Bare Bottom

when ever i do bare bottom i put a couple hardy zoa or star polyp frags on the bottom of the tank and they cover it like carpet! the only problem is is that until they cover the bototm the tank looks like crap. im really not a fan of entirely bare bottom. imo it just showcases all the organic...

Need a little barebottom help. Good bottome feeder recomendation...

i dont think its good to have bottom dwelling fish on a bare bottom. i know alot of people lobe bb tanks but i really dont see how it looks good. i prefer sand. even though its a pain in the butt with a ton of flow such as in an sps tank it looks so much better than a bare bottom with algae and...

    Mandarin Goby Died

i feel kind of bad knowing that all of them are living things, but i am definitely much more sad depending on how much the fish was! haha. when my first clown jumped from the tank i was dissapointed, then when my emporer angel got its fin bitten off by my snowflake i was devastated!

    Thoughts on an octopus tank

that is great advice, also keep in mind that when frightened they will ink. this is why such a massive filter is needed and you really need to have your tank in a well traveled area of the house so you will know fairly soon if he does ink. if its secluded in a bedroom and he inks it will have...

    Thoughts on an octopus tank

some octopi will get lost isnt a 90 but there are many that will grow too large for a 90. but many of these are very rare in captivity. you could most likely get away with a 25-30 gallon.

Mini-maxi anemone hiding in a cave

it would not have moved there if it did not like the location. anemones only move to find food or a more preferable enviornment.
