    Gorgonian Purchasing Question

Interesting thread. Thank you all :) Becky, any updates?

    Slightly New tank layout

Great Tank Krish!! I love all the gorgonians! It's been a while since I've checked back in with you guys. Glad to see everyone, and especially Krish's tank, doing so well. Actually, I think I last visited RF back in Feb. or so, just before my trip to the Bahamas. And while in the Bahamas, I...

White spot on the Coral Beauty?

This page has some good information: http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/aquarium_fish_3.html But if you wait around, I'm sure someone on this page will be able to help you through the process.

White spot on the Coral Beauty?

Hi Jimmy, It sounds like it could very likely be Ich. The good news is that you have the fish in quarantine, which will give you many more options for treatment. One option to consider, after determining that it does have Ich, is hyposalinity. This is done by slowly lowering the SG (specific...

    Tank setup question

Sounds fine to me, too. :) Just be careful when moving the starfish! You'll need to have the salinity match exactly, and even then, it'd be safest to re-acclimate it to the new tank. Good Luck!

    High Ceilings & a 92 Corner

Oooops. Just realized it was a triangular tank. That....um....complicates... Modified suggestion: find a way to make a 3-legged light housing. It should be easier to 'stand' the lights on the tank (even if it's 3 sided), than to hang them from the height of a cruising Cessna.

    High Ceilings & a 92 Corner

Or legs on the light fixture, standing on the rim of the tank?

    Heater Malfunction

Sorry to hear about your bad luck! Your best bet now would be to do some water changes and put some new carbon into your system. Most tanks recover fine from this kind of accident. Also, make sure you pick out any pieces of the old heater.

    O.K Here it is...Atlantis!

Wow! I'm feeling very lucky now! Just found out today that our plans have changed...not going to the original destination. Instead, we're headed straight for the Exuma Cays! Can't wait! Have rented a house boat for 5 days! Will try and post some pics when we return. Thanks again for the tips...

    Pics of my 120 peninsula.

The green lawn is Scotts Premium Grass Seed, available in 10 lb. bags from HD or Lowe's.......  :p Just kidding. That's a mat of Green Star Polyps, one of my favorite corals! People sometimes complain about them growing too fast, which they do. But I say, 'If they look that nice...

    Pics of my 120 peninsula.

Thanks for the comments! I've had the Sohal in for about four weeks now, and so far she's been a perfect angel. No aggression issues whatsoever. My Flame angel and clownfish definetly get out of the way when she comes by, but not because she's threatening in any way. But I have no other...

    Pics of my 120 peninsula.

Livestock includes: Many zoanthids, GSP, hammer, torch, a green BTA (now 2), large Sebae anemone, 2 clownfish, 1 Flame angel, 1 lawnmower blenny, a friend's sohal (who's only a temporary guest), and a nasty looking crab that I wish I knew how to catch... It's lit by a 14k 150W in the front...

    Pics of my 120 peninsula.

Hi folks, I finally got around to figuring out how to use my girlfriend's digital camera. So here are some pics of my peninsula-shaped acrylic. Any thoughts on aquascaping or anything else appreciated. Thanks, Jh

    Ehiem Hobby pumps

Eheims are known for being very quiet and dependable. I have an Eheim canister that is perfectly silent. My only concern in your case would be if it can provide enough flow.

    Nitroimidezoles?

LOL, Hang in there! 'Doris' are great at one thing: getting Ich! But don't worry, if you've had a healthy tank in the past, this one will probably pull out of it. I found that keeping my tank temperature very stable helped control it, along with super clean and clear water. Good Luck!

    funny

LOL, that's great! Yeah, looks like it came from The Other Site.

Bahamian Profiles of reefs, rocks and puddles

And about those snails: Anyone know why snails sometimes get together and hold those snail conferences? I've noticed that they (Turbos) do it in my tank once every couple of months. It doesn't seem to be related to spawning, as I've seen them do that when alone and spread out. Funny though, the...

Bahamian Profiles of reefs, rocks and puddles

Great Picks Krish! I was just saying to myself, 'Wow, self, the colors on these pics are great. They look so natural...' Then I read this: Not sure what others think, but I think the colors look very good and accurate! I should admit that I'm a little colorblind, though...;)
