    Getting fish to play nice

I just got 7 little ( 3/4"-ish) Black Bar Chromis for our 125 gal. reef tank. I have been trying to get these little guys for 8 months now. The problem is that I have two large Blue Green Chromis and two smaller false Percs 1 1/2" & 1") that are being nippy. Is there anything I can do to get...

    Fiji Molting

Thanks! I've been using the turkey baster every day. My cleaner shrimp also have a tendency to hang out on the Fiji, will they help it along?

    Fiji Molting

We have a nice, big Yellow Fiji and it seems to be shriveling up and molting every 2-3 weeks. The last time it did, it definately got bigger with more polyps and it's in the process again. Is it normal to happen this often? The first is a picture of when it's not molting. The second is today.

    A small problem...

Honestly, I have had great luck with Drs. Foster and Smith. Their customer service has been excellent and their fish are very nice. I haven't bought corals from them but the do alot of captive grown and aquacultured, not to mention tank bred fish. Their livestock web site is liveaquaria.com.

    Severe problem (i think!)

You have rust on a titanium heater? I had two in my tank for two years and they never rusted! They had coraline all over them but never rust. Isn't that kinda the idea?

what is the best skimmer to step up to for a 110 gallon total volume system?

I have to go with the Aqua C EV-180, too. We've used a couple of different skimmers from Aqua C and we're quite happy with them. But, then again, I go for what I know works vs. holy crap that's really expensive so it must be better! On the same note, I haven't tried the more expensive skimmers...

    Quietest external pump?

We have a Reeflo Wahoo. It's probably way too much for what you're looking for but it is pretty quiet considering it's a large pump. They make smaller ones though. Just my two cents worth!

    Moving clown to new host?

We have recently set up an entirely new system. In our old tank, our false percula desided to host in a small clump of hair algae (which has now grown into a large clump of hair algae due to the constant defence of his "home"). I felt bad for him, so when we transfered everyone over to the new...

    Overflows suck...Help

We have a Reeflo Wahoo running the whole thing. We figured the headheight to be atleast 13 ft. (including 90's and 45's.) Before this, we didn't have a sump at all. Now, because of the way we have it plumbed between a drain, the salt mix barrel and the sump, a water change for the entire system...

ID on a couple of things

I just learned about the tube like things, I forget the proper name but they are some sort of snail. The "web stuff is thier was of fishing for food. I have them all over my LR. My LFS said they are common and not a problem. I'm curious about the ball thing though. I had one in the tub where I...

    ID please...found in chaeto

Thanks for the info. I must say, we've had our tank for 2 yrs now and this is the first time I've heard of them. I wish I could keep him without any problems, he's kinda cute.

    ID please...found in chaeto

Figures. So I should just fish him out? Should I be looking for more? All that's in there with it is an Emerald Crab and some snails.

He's maybe the size of a dime.

I just got some Chaeto for my refugium and this little guy showed up. If anyone knows what he is and how to care for him, that would be great. The tiny tenticals seem to move separately.

    Overflows suck...Help

The little tank on top is our 10 gal refugium and the sump is a DIY out of a 40 gal breeder. The downstairs section is working fine, now if I can tweak the overflows into be alittle more quiet, it will be perfect! (This was just the trial run with fresh water, so no skimmer, LR, etc...)

    Overflows suck...Help

That sounds perfect. I think, since we already have the overflows, i'l try drilling out the vaccum break on the top. that should do the same thing without having to mess with any more plumbing than we have to. (We have done quite enough plumbing for now!) Here's a picture of the basement...

    Overflows suck...Help

We just set up a 125 gal drilled with overflows. Everything is running great except the intakes for the overflows seem to serge (draw down) and make a horrible sucking sound every couple of minutes. They are adjustable, so is there a certain height they should be set at? The pump output is about...

    Need ID please

I don't think there is any tissue. It looks pretty much like a piece of coral that you can buy to put on a display shelf. Like bleached coral only this has a little peach-ish color to it.
