I need some help. I am using web studio 5 to design a web site because I stopped learning HTML about 10 years ago. I need to figure out a way to host customer accounts via a user name and password so I/They can view their pass invoices and update shipping billing information (Not CC numbers). I need them to be able to self register as well so I am not having to manually add them prior to a checkout. I will most likely be hosting with Go Daddy unless someone has a better suggestion. If there are any web design adept people out there I can make it very worth your while in the near future.

Thanks

Seth

secrets LOL. WHy do you say that about Go Daddy? i need SSL, Merchant accounts to accept CC, and the ability to store customer accounts they can log into. What web server would you recommend?

You can use any cart app. Like cube, zen and many others. Your merchant services is seperate. You can use paypal merchant account if you qualify. There is also intuit along with a bunch of banks like chase b of a and so on. Go daddy keeps you from having a public directory and htaccess. This way you are forced to use their over priced services. Fat cow is awsome no restrictions or limits. What you need is a php app.

Funny I was just looking at Fat Cow. I figured it would be a PHP or ASP App depending on the server OS they are using. I would prefer to stay away from SQL as it is very vulnerable to attacks. (Funny I know how to break security but not design the pages LOL)

Apply for your merchant services account before starting your app setup. You will need your business license and articals incorporation if you incorporated. If your in wa you will need a web store class on your master. No sense in working on the php or databases until you have a way to collect money. They all use a different method.

Don,

I will look into that. I am not seeing a web store sub license listed on teh WA state site though under licenses.

Nope call them when you apply and tell them you are doing a home based internet store. This will keep dor of your door step. Keep in mind they are heavy handed right now. But will also keep pierce county from collecting property taxes on your personal business assets up to 22k anyways.

I'll call them and see if I can get that added to my license that is currently in processing.
