Glad it worked out. As a carrier of 26 years for the USPS I take pride in not "drop kicking" packages. 
Some mailing tips:
1. always get insurance.
2. Pack with foam peanuts or bubble wrap.
3. When in doubt, pack a box within a box.
4. Write fragile in LARGE LETTERS.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend shipping a delicate item such as skimmer through USPS. I just received some zoos, and a yuma today that were fine. Package still warm and pretty early this morning too. I'm glad everything worked out for you. The terror of shipping, I swear...
