Krish, I saw that you have an AquaC EV-Series Skimmer. How do you like it? I thought they were suppose to be in-sump.

I was thinking that if later on I need a fuge for my system, I would need to replace my Octopus NW-150 skimmer with an external one and the AquaC EV120 looks like a good option.

What do you guys think?
 
It was a pretty nice skimmer Carlos...No complaints. It is made for either insump or external use. On my 38gal cube I had it in sump and on the 75 gal I had it external. The main thing with them is the gate valve needs to sit above water level. I chose that skimmer over any of the others at the time because it could be used externall as I didn't have space in the sump for any other skimmers. I'll fetch you a pic of how it was insump with the gate valve above water level:)
 
I see what you mean. I would need to install it externaly since I would be using that room for the fuge. Is there any other good external skimmer that I look at?
 
Not sure...Most of the ones I'm familiar with are in sump. Maybe you can start a new thread dedicated to it to get a bit more views and feedback:)
 
Euroreef but they are expensive! Let me dig into this some tomorrow & I'll find you a good external skimmer!
 
I put the tank back together this afternoon and even though I haven't finished rearranging the aquascaping, I can't believe how much BETTER the tank looks now! seriously, it looks so much nicer!

In another note, the holes I drilled in the elbows to prevent back siphoning didn't work so I will have to replace them again!

Tomorrow I will finish putting it back together and I will take some pictures.
 
Sorry I haven't updated this in a few days. It's been a crazy week!

Anyway, I put it all back together last Friday and I finished with the aquascaping on Tuesday. I'm going to wait until Sunday to test the water again.

I know Scooty but I imagine that Nitrates might be high right now because of all this. Last week I had to past in a pair of perculas, they were awesome looking, I need to stop missing out.

You'll get fish in there man, it will be super exciting I know!;)
 
No, it is good for moving everything In & out like that, sorry wasn't clear. Check it again next week.
 
I agrew with Scooty...Sometimes pulling down will cause a small cycle or throw things out of whack a bit, but you are sitting nice. See what happens by next week:)
