return on botton of overflow box

That sounds good to me!:D Can we have the return come out of the overflow box near the bottom. I'd like to get some flow in the lower end of the tank. My only source of flow will be coming from the vortech and my return. The vortech is going to be located on the same side as the overflow. Since all of the flow will be coming from the right side of the tank, should we have the return located on the left side of the tank? I def trust your judgement so lets do whatever you think is best. :)

hey i wouldn't put your return on the botton. if you loose power. it would drain your whole tank. not a good idea.

well i have had the power go out and also had a good check valve and it failed. i would put the return on the top. why take that chance on draining the whole tank if the power goes out. well its up to you guys. just wanted to put my 2 cents in.

Drp drip drip....that is scary. I knew a couple people that done it that way. One of them wasn't so lucky. Good luck:)

the check valves will fail if you dont service them but when they do it is a drip drip drip sa roscoe said. if you pull them off once every couple months and clean it then the chances of them failing is very slim. plus i am installing a ball valve above it so if the power goes out for a long period of time then you can just close the valve.
i wouldnt worry about it myself....

not trying to scare ya

Now you got me all worried Chad!:D Probably should have put the return higher but it's too late now...

matt knows what he is doing. i have had this problem before. make sure you put the one that has union fittings on it. if you have to you can just replace the center.

Ahhh come on Jayson.... you don't want to keep the return on the bottom:D? I wouldn't want to raise the flood percentage possibilty myself. Great decission! Also it would just be another chore that you would have to remember to do every couple of months or else you come home to an empty tank and a soaked floor with pissed off landlord (that is if you rent).

hey anytime. learn from our mistakes. now you can sleep like a baby and no worry's.

Yes learning from our mistakes is very important. It is just as important to let others know our mistakes so they do not make the same mistakes.

As for myself I have learned I can only drink 13 beers before I surf the forums after number 14 I tend to get banned. LOL
