I've got an ocean runner 2500 Jayson. Just about the same as the mag 7 as far as flow, but nearly half the wattage and it's dead quiet. Oh, it's cheaper as well.

But the tank is 36''

Yeah I know It will cover most of the tank and being only 16" deep won't be a problem. A 250 may have been better but it will look good once I hang it. Still a total of 280w. I may upgrade in the future but it should meet the light demands of most corals.:)

Hey Matt I was reviewing my build and I'm thinking we could add a couple 3" computer fans to help vent the inside of the stand. What do you think? I think it would be pretty easy to drill in a couple holes on the back of the stand. I also want to mount the Aquacontroller on the outside so I'm going to cut out a hole for that also. I'm going to pick up a dj strip later this week. This will run the return, skimmer, vortech, and ato and 3" fans. The acjr will run the mh's, pc's, leds, fan for sump, heater, and refuge light. Once I pick up the pump and acjr from Sarang and the dj strip I'll swing by to see how things are going. Maybe I could p/u the stand and tank for painting and drilling. I'll give you a call later in the week...:)

Thanks again Matt!

JMHO you should get 250mh Jayson. I know you won't be happy with the 150. Didn't you change from 150 to 250 on your solana? I had that same fixture for the 40b at one point and I had to take it off because it did not put out enough light. Also too the reflector for the MH is garbage IMO way to small to give it a good light spead.

Yeah I agree with you but for $200 it was well worth it. I'll give it a whirl and possibly upgrade in the future if it's not doing it's job. Thanks for the help though! I'm sure I can sell for the same price if need be it retails for almost double.:)

jayson

If the bottom of the tank is not temperred we should make the overflow box a bit bigger and drill the drain and return through the bottom and bring the return into the tank through the overflow box. then there will be no visible pluming on this system!!!!

Matt

I found this which eases my mind...http://www.aqueonproducts.com/assets/011/19784.pdf

40 breeder's made by aqueon are not tempered!:)

Cool I'll grab the stand and tank sometime this week. I'll call you before I do so...:D Next week sounds good! Do you think you could figure out where the holes need to be drilled? I'm stopping by Sarang's late this week so we can drill the tank!:)

Thanks Matt! I should have the stand and tank back at your place by Saturday. We will talk more when I pick them up!:)
