Ok My sump is an Old 75g tank... Its getting a bit frustrating how its setup now... The previous person that had it setup did the sump... Great Ideas and such but its just not cutting it for me...

The Baffles that are in here seem semi loose so I should be able to Remove them Pretty Easily...

I need to flow about 4500gph thru the sump and I am Very Tired of dealing with Microbubbles from the sump...

Here is a crappy drawing of my Idea... I wish I could cut the complete thing down 2' but thats not gonna happen..

Thanks again,
James

I am not an expert on sumps but I will try to help you out.

The first thing that I would do is to add a baffle on the left hand side of the sump. It should make the first section of the sump. It should extend from the bottom of the sump to the height that you want the water level at. This will give you a constant water level for your skimmer. Try to make the first section as deep as possible. You may have to put your skimmer on a stand to keep it within mfg's specs. This deeper section will give the bubbles more time to pop.

After that I would add the 3 baffles for your bubble trap. The bubble trap baffles should be spaced 1" apart with the middle baffle 1" off the bottom. Make sure the middle baffle is taller than the ones on the outside. This makes the water flow through the bubble trap instead of over it. This sections water level will change with evaporation.

As for the baffles on the right they probably won't do anything.

This is just my opinion. Take it for what its worth. :)

Ok.. First my Skimmer is a Large Dual beckett skimmer... So thats not a problem... I do want to move my skimmer over to the opposite side of the tank and close up the bulkhead so its getting water pretty much right off the overflow... I do see where your going...

As for the baffles on the right they are already there and I figure they probably wont do much but they wont do any harm staying there so why try and remove them..

Reverse your baffles to under over under.... So that the bubbles from the overflow get trapped in the first chamber.
