I heard Charlie... I was losing 1-2 colonies every week for 3 months. They would slowly bleach from varying points on the colonies and spread. No tissue loss, just excruciating bleaching.. On some of the bushy SPS the tips would look virtually burnt!

There are so many wild-cards when keeping SPS... There is a reason we dont see 10+ year old SPS tanks that havent experienced complete turnover in livestock. I facing that reality it's hard for me to justify taking any more coral in. I do have a few colonies that never looked better, but they are the minority.
 
Hey, at least you still have some left man, mine was totally devastated. I don't know why, but I kept all the skeletons in a garbage sack. Man let's get off this subject, sorry I brought it up. Do you have any pics of your new tank??? That ought to brighten this up a bit.
 
lol It's only a hobby Charlie :) One with a rather large correlation to financial security, but it's better than gambling in Vegas ;)

I'll get some pics of the fish only tank this weekend :) I have finish work to do on it but I am STOKED because Saturday I am getting in some new fish! Whohoo!!
 
Sorry to hear about the reef John. I think all of us that have spent any time in this hobby can feel your pain. Looking forward to seeing your new tank though.
 
Hey John, Congrats on getting the L set up - I hope to see it soon! Sorry to hear about the difficulties on the reef, it's been a rough year for it! Hope it all settles out soon. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help?

Here are some pics of the new fish-only tank. and BTW: OMG JOSH BROWN JUST KICKED A 54 yrd Field goal to win the hawks GAME!!! WHOHOOO!!!!!!

The water is a lil cloudy from me kicking the sand a bit..

Thanks Scott ;) I host Hawks games every Sunday, so let me know if you ever want to join the fun. I still have finish work and decorating to do on the theatre but it's definately functional :) All games are in High definition on a 105" screen.

LOL!!! that's the spirit dood !!! i just finished watching the Seahawks game and ohh boy what a game :D, we watched it in HD too :p.
 
ohh yeah nice home theater center and fish tank, i didn't know you had it in a home theater, isn't it a little bit loud in there with the tank ?
 
The tank is barely audible. Fish Only tanks are so simple.. The flow is delivered by a 1500gph external powerhead and the return pump on a rotating wavemaker.
