Randy knows how to do evites. I was curious if we could do the tank from CFI? That is up to group if they think it would be a money maker?

Jason was still willing to do the tank. If we want to go in that direction we should probably decide soon so that we give him time for the build. I am hoping he is working on my stand and tank this week. I have not yet heard back from him on the sump idea.

What does everyone else think? Should we go with the tank or the credit towards a sump? I like the sump idea only because I would like to have Jason build me one; however, I think having a tank at the picnic for everyone to drool over may sell more raffle tickets.

I know Randy will want to make money. That is goal of Picnic. How much did CFI want to build the tank?

The tanks in the past haven't made much if any, after we paid our portion... If he is willing to go with the credit, I'm sure it could be used for a sump or towards a tank.....

I do not know if Colleen had got a price when she talked to Jason. After talking to Steven he seemed to be leaning towards the sump idea, so that is what I discussed with Jason. I will e-mail Jason and ask on the price for the tank.

I think the last tank we got cost us 300-400 somewhere in there. We do not have the funds to do that this year.

In light of Randy's response I will hold off on the conversation with Jason on the tank and wait until we have a consensus.

So do we want to throw in some money on the sump credit?

Yes, I think steven and I discussed $100 or $200, I can't remember.

I thought we decided $100. Thats double what we are going to do with the rest of the sponsors. I think if Jason matched that towards a sump, we would be in good shape.

On an other note. It looks like Blue Seirra is only going to do a $50 gift cert. I will nail them down for an exact. I will also be getting a hold of Eric today.

I was working up a post for the picnic, then got stumped....

How about the raffle tickets being $5 each OR 5 tickets for $20? Getting 5 tickets for the price of 4 'might' encourage everyone to buy at least 5; or in multiples of 5. It would work for me! :lol:

Do we have a confirmed starting time?
Will Eric's new tank be setup by then?
Is the Salsa Factory in Renton or Auburn?

Mark your calendars for June 21st 2008!

We are meeting this year at the Salsa Factory. Eric, aka SalsaKing, has graciously offered to be our host again.

This will be a potluck dinner, so please bring either a side dish, salad, dessert, or anything you'd believe our group would enjoy. The club will be providing the main course. Bring a chair if you're planning on sitting down.

This is our annual fund raiser and there will be many prizes.

Thoughts? I know we need a lot more information, but I got stumped on what....

Randy - please correct me if i am wrong. As far as raffle tickets go, you get 5 per membership card. Then it is 3 for $5 after that. The Salsa Factory is in Auburn and i dont believe that Eric's tank will be setup by then but you never know. As far as a time, i dont believe that has been decided. Should we say 3:00PM?

I like Vicki's idea on the price of raffle tickets, if this is the fundraiser we need to raise funds!! We are providing some big ticket items so I think it is worth it. Seems like the raffle for the books at the seattle aquarium meeting was $5 per ticket and nobody had any issues with it.

So Steven and I had spoke about trying to get deep water rocks to make a donation. Has anyone talked to them? Eric should have his wall in the tank by the time of the picnic and a lot of people expressed interest in this rock on Erics tank build thread.

I just emailed the guy for deep water rocks. Just waiting on a reply. I am fine with the price of raffle tickets if thats what we all agree on. I think people are going to spend a certain dollare amount no matter how many tickets they get for it.(At least that is how i work anyways)

"What do you think of doing a 50% of a sump, and a 50% tank deal. That way someone can design what they want instead of whatever I build. They can go buck wild if they want. The price would be calculated off of Retail. Like Barrier Reef or Saltwater City. If you and the board are cool with that, lets do it."

I agree, I typically am willing to spend $20. Id much rather have 12 tickets than four. At $5 each I may not buy any at all because my odds of winning are far less . Or so it seems.

Trido, I think this is an issue no matter what we raffle. Some will want/need and others will not.
