just started a 5 gallon project

So I went as cheap as I could and set up a 5 gallon reef for my 6 yr old son. The lights were purchased from nanotuners.com for $36. and the tank from my LFS used for $5., an acrylic trash can that I had laying around the house for the pump/filter chamber and the rest of the stuff from my other tank.

Did you seal the inside of the top?

Last time I made a wood top the evaporation hit it and messed it up.

I like it! Although you might want to think about replacing the foil in the reflector with mylar. I tried foil once and it accidently made contact with so electrical wire....man did that thing smoke!
