welcome to the reefing world. I have been running compact lights on a 55 gallon for 5 years and have had great luck with them. Also have alot for different corals from hard (birdnest) to soft one. I just think you just need to place the coral where the light is best for them. Welcome again to the world of saltwater.

I just started my SW from FW a month ago too. I bought a all-in-one type unit and it's awesome. However, it's does have it's limitation to expandability as far as having a sump or fuge. good luck
