OK I've been getting alittle tank work done, A while back I decided that I want to combine my frag system with my display system. I had a 60gal reffume which was joined in combination to water change system which had to go, refume become a nitrate factory my PO4 was rising and as high as .08 before removing ref. a week later it had dropped to .06 and two weeks down to .04 This left me the perfect spot for frag tank and the power savings of not having to run a complete other sump system. Here's pic of system with ref. still running

well what I thought would be a weekend swap didn't work out quite that easy, first bulk heads in frag tank interfered with frame work of cabnet. What this did was give me a good oppertunity to clean water change system LOL which sit below where frag tank is to be installed

So now it was time to modify cabnet, which really only ment finishing trim for that area of cabnet

this took a bit of time but was now ready for some stain

so now a month later this is how everything turned out

What a nice upgrade.
Are you checking that upper cabinet for level on a week to week basis? or is that were you store it? Maybe you forgot it was there? Is it glued to the top of the cab.
Do you need to barrow a ladder to reach it? LOL

Ahhh the old growing cabinet syndrome!!! Keep an eye on it Guerry or that cabinet system will just keep getting longer and longer and longer!!

looking good

I think he is running out of wall space. But, if his cabinets do keep growing at least he doesnt have to reach very far to make sure they are level

Actualy you never know when the house maybe moving, this way I can keep a close eye on it LOL

moving to another room next, just got the wife a 240 for her fish and coral

Hey I got one better than that, I bought a 125 fish only about a year ago and trick was convencing her it was her's. Once that took she started to clean and maintain it LOL so being the nice guy I am I got her an up grade so her fish will have more room to swim around

Wow Guerry, you’re really rocking it! That is some beautiful wood work and I like your plumbing set up. I am also very jealous of your corals too. When Frankie and I come down, I may have to get some frags to take home! LOL. When I start my 120 build, I'll be doing some cabinet work as well. The plan was to use it for kitchen storage but after seeing what you did, I may have to do something similar. Not sure how to explain it to the wife though. :suspicious:

we are now doing a lighting up grade, going from 1300watts of MH lighting to LEDs. I've got to slow the wheel down on the old power meter box. This is what I'm starting with
IMG_1309.jpg

fixture will have 72 XP-E royal blues, 36 XP-E cool whites and 36 XP-G R5s for mid day sun
on the 4th picture the little box with the tube going in?...what is it for.... dosing?

Your outa control Guerry, I'm semi-retired and don't have that much time for playing with my reeftanks.... though I could take a little break in Salmon fishing to get more done. Very nice acrylic work on the sump, wishing I would have just made mine by design as well instead of modding a 75g. The corals are looking great under your LED's and finally getting around to building mine now and should be receiving my VDM and 2-channel dimming cables for my Apex on Monday. What % are you up to with the LED's now on the DT ???

Cheers, Todd
