My 300 Gallon sps tank

Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

I'll have to catch up on this thread, so many pictures so little time. Love seeing this tanks thread.

Find last December and work your way from there...................... that is when I put the LEDs on the tank. Alot of stuff has changed, but alot has also remained the same :).

Oh, and Parrot, just take more meds, you know how that goes ;).

Will do, I'm just starting to really get into the sps corals and boy are they neat. I'v been putting them off because it's that much more work to the tank, and more tank maintenance during college...no thanks.

Only thing I'm not liking about sps is the price vs size you get, but little by little I'll start gathering them up.

I prefer lps over sps any day. I'm still not gonna dabble into any acros and I'll TRY to keep to montis and a few other "easy" birdsnest... But then again the tank was suppose to be a softy tank until I went deep into lps, oops.

Got through the thread since the light upgrade and man that setosa is a monster! I Also gotta say it's awesome how you have the angel in a full blown reef like yours, don't see that every day.

The setosa is 4-5 years old, and has been fragged a bunch, started out the size of a quarter.

The Emperor is what is stopping me from going all LPS, but there is absolutely no way I could get rid of her, she was the size of a quarter also, OK, maybe a half dollar ;). She munches, but not much really, I keep her fed.

I might just have to buy a small frag of it when I see it, I'm not a huge fan of encrusting sps simply because of the limited space I have. The color it has is too cool to miss out on it.

There should be some coming over to Seattle with Joanne from Spokane for the Bob Moore Frag swap in February. Check the SPCDA booth ;)

I'll make sure to look for it, hopefully it will be a good event and even better if the prices are cheap (I can dream can't I).

hey, I hope you had a Merry Christmas... and i'm sure you'll be Happy for NewYears :)
i'm a bit bummed cause I think Julie may have spent my tank money on her granite counter top!!!! it looks nice but it won't grow coral!!! at least we are making progress. we hope to move in in January, sometime.
is the angel leaving the LPS alone?

Ah Julie, well ya know Rob, if you have any left I could use a granite counter top too ;).

I had to move the one Acan back into the fuge, it just did not like what is goin on in the tank :(. Other than that, I have been trying to drop in some freeze dried plankton once a day plus their regular feeding time. I guess you could call it a bribe.

Please let us know when you all get moved in, and according to this forums policy......................... you had better have pictures handy or else it didn't happen ;).

OK, time for some end of the year pics, hope you enjoy :).
