For those of you that haven't visited my "cubes" thread lately, I have decided to take it down and simplify things even more. I loved the setup, but to make a long story short, some things weren't working out according to plan and I've been having issues with the proper location (because I had to move the tank), the chiller running constantly annoying my wife, electricity bill going up $300+ and on and on so I opted for an HQI Aquapod so I can keep a small reef.
I ordered the 24 gal Aquapod yesterday (which will ship Monday so it doesn't have to sit in UPS over the weekend) as well as an Aqua C nano skimmer. I have a few new maxi jets here, as well as I ordered another one so I'll see what I will do with them when I have everything infront of me and I see the space I'm dealing with. My TLF Phosban reactor will go on the pod as well. As far as livestock goes, my water, live rock, corals, zoo's and clowns will all transfer in there so I won't have to worry about starting all over. I'm sure I will do something out of the ordinary with it, but we'll see
So here is the first set of pics. I was going to buy a stand because of my limited time now, but decided today, I wasn't going to plan anything for the afternoon at work so I could knock out something simple and quick. The stand took 1.5 hours to build and all I need to do now is seal and stain it and put a hidden hinge on the front door. I built the stand in a way to give the illusion that there isn't even a door there for the kids that come here and like to get into things. I will post pics of course on the progress of everything
