For those of you that haven't visited my "cubes" thread lately, I have decided to take it down and simplify things even more. I loved the setup, but to make a long story short, some things weren't working out according to plan and I've been having issues with the proper location (because I had to move the tank), the chiller running constantly annoying my wife, electricity bill going up $300+ and on and on so I opted for an HQI Aquapod so I can keep a small reef.

I ordered the 24 gal Aquapod yesterday (which will ship Monday so it doesn't have to sit in UPS over the weekend) as well as an Aqua C nano skimmer. I have a few new maxi jets here, as well as I ordered another one so I'll see what I will do with them when I have everything infront of me and I see the space I'm dealing with. My TLF Phosban reactor will go on the pod as well. As far as livestock goes, my water, live rock, corals, zoo's and clowns will all transfer in there so I won't have to worry about starting all over. I'm sure I will do something out of the ordinary with it, but we'll see;)

So here is the first set of pics. I was going to buy a stand because of my limited time now, but decided today, I wasn't going to plan anything for the afternoon at work so I could knock out something simple and quick. The stand took 1.5 hours to build and all I need to do now is seal and stain it and put a hidden hinge on the front door. I built the stand in a way to give the illusion that there isn't even a door there for the kids that come here and like to get into things:p. I will post pics of course on the progress of everything:)

that's a nice stand! I wish I were a carpenter. that's alot for electricity. best of luck with the new tank!!!:D

LOL! Thanks for the replies everyone:) Yeah Steve...I gotta bite the bullet again. Like Sherman asked, Where's the 90? 90gal turned into 75gal for better dimensions. The 75gal turned into 38gal because I had to move it from it's location because we needed the space for the baby. The 38gal had to be moved back because the original location made more sense and also, the chiller was too loud being about 3ft away from the TV so it moved and looked like crap there and didn't make much sense dealing with re-building, re-plumbing and sorting out the heat from the closed loop because time is limited so it turns into a 24gal. I can't go any smaller from here or else it won't be worth it to me.:p You guys will like it and I'm sure I will too:)

I love my pod! I went from 55 to 120 down to 24 so...it's all good Krish!

Sounds good man...The 12 gal would be pushing it for me. Like I said, just doing it because it's best right now:)

So whats the next tank size?

Krish, you must really love this hobby the way you keep changing tanks to find the one that is perfect for you. Do you even sell the old tanks or do you store them. You probably have enough tanks to start a fish wholesale business.

LOL...If it were up to me and didn't have a wife in the equation, I would have started out with a 125gal and probably stopped there. It's not a money isssue (never is) just finding the happy medium for everyone:)

Long live the nano!!

You know it:p I will definately always hold on to this one. I can always use it for a frag tank later or put it in my bedroom or something:)

awesome dood!!!
you really got some serious craftmanship skills :D ... i wish i could build things like that :) .
keep it up and keep us posted with what you add or downsize :p  .

LOL...Thanks Gabbs:) I won't be changing up anymore right now. It is getting too rediculous if you ask me. I like messing with things trying to perfect things, but everytime I get something to where I like it, I have to change it for some reason. I so no need for having to change this one:)

I stained the stand today and it is drying now. All left to do is put on the clear coat/ sealer. Here is the color I am working with so far:)
