i have 3 ballast with actinic bulbs i can sell you for cheep. the bulbs are 24 inches long on one of them. the other two i think they are 22 inches long. let me know. chad

is that a pulse start or probe start ballast. you can tell by looking at the old bulb. you could prob google images to tell the differnce. anyway, all ballast wont run all bulbs and furthermore pfo built many differnce ballast to run different bulbs at optimum.

is your home air conditioned and can you keep your tank cool in the summer. mh heats up tanks real fast. like trido suggested since you have to put out $80 for a bulb, you take $80 off an led fixture.

Yeah summer is coming. And this month on the 15th...oh thats this saturday...there is a PSAS DIY LED workshop at Red C. Where they will also be giving away a DIY LED Kit. Its a chance to meet a lot of fellow members here.

Most everyone started out with T5's then went to halides and then on to LEDs. If heat becomes an issue there are some things you can do to help reduce the water temp. I for one liked halides. If it wasnt for the heat and electrical cost, I would probably still be using them.

Ok were does everyone go to look for some leds lights. Again 125g growing easy corals and on a budget.ty

I absolutely love my evergrow D2120's from Barrier Reef Aquariums. They are $199 each and have dial dimmers so you can adjust the intensity which is a must with LED's. If you want computer controlled dawn/dusk you will pay about $320 from BRA.
