Now that things have settled down

Yeah been awhile for me. But should be ok, I really like the size though So It will get done.

Ok Got more glass, Iam finishing up the cube tommorrow and will start the sump. Things are going great right now. So this weekend will end up being work. After the sump is done Iam working on the stand modification. Then Santa better bring his arse over and give me some bulkheads. Pictures to follow.

Ok as stated earlier I got he glass ffrom Sam, He gave a mirror back for this sump, Should help on growing Xenia and frags. I got a first seam of silicone , I hope it turns out ok, I only had Black silicone handy, Did not want to venture to HD this time a year , I want to avoid crowds and the mAyhem they create. Here is sopme photos of the progress I made so far. Now keep in mind its a sump.

The Silicone job looks bad but I hope to better it tommorrow.

Ill be cutting the Baffles after Chrsitmas, I already have that glass for that. A wet test will be before the Baffles are inserted. I am just hoping for no leaks.

Yeah its 75 Gallons, Plan is to have a 2 Fuge chamber. First fuge will be with Cheato of course, But the second is a choice Iam making from reading and seeing certain things. The second is going to have Feather dusters and sea squirts with Xenia. I have found in my research that all but the Xenia will polish water. People that have had those in thier sumps claim to have much clearer water, So Iam gonna try it. Plus the added water volume will assist in a More stable enviroment.

Yeah Iam getting the itch bad now, I really excited about this tank for some reason, Maybe because I never been so long without one. But this will be cool. So far I only spent money for the tank so all the stuff I have so far is Free!!!, Maybe thats why Iam excited.

Ok tommorrow is the day for the baffles in the sump I will cut them and install them using silicone again. I hope my techiques are a little better. but hey its just sump.

Ok here are some pics of the sump. It is now complete but beauty.... well it has none. I have to say my Use of Silicone is much to be desired. But wet testing should prove to be successful. It has 2 chambers for Macro and other filters, The first chamber on the far left is for the Skimmer and water entry, The second chamber is for a Macro type Algae and the second for other filtering agent such as feather dusters and other water polishers. Hope it works ok, Flow is going to be about 1800 GPH. The sump will approx 60 gallons of water maybe less but has a total capacity of 75 gallons.

I hope wet test this weekend, I will documnet the filling.

Bob, what is up with your sump? Are you using a mirror for the back? and are the other panels made from some sort of one-way glass?

Yes it is a Mirror back. The other glass is plain old Plate glass. It was offered to me free so I took it. I think it will add some light reflectivity to my Macro.
