Tony, for those pics, I used the 100mm Macro, hand held.
Nicole and Gary, to answer your question from the Zoanthid ID thread, without taking their thread any further off topic, I do like the 70-300mm Tamron. It can only be put in Macro mode at 180 or above. It's not a very fast lens, and has a couple other shortfalls. It's not actually a true macro, and while in Macro mode, still needs to be quite a distance from the subject to focus. When shooting my tank, in macro, I need to be almost 3' from the tank...lol.
I do use it a lot for other types of photography though. I really like it when shooting outdoors. For it's price, it's a great lens and I'd recommend it over Canons version.
