Thinking of Running Ozone

John - are you monitoring your ORP? I know you posted you don't have a controller, but do you have a monitor? If your ORP is fine, do you need to use ozone?

The monitor/controller is on the way.. (I couldn't WAIT ::slaps wrist::) I felt comfortable running it for short periods of time.

More than likely people with high energy sps tanks with heavy skimming like ours have acceptable ORP levels given the amount oxygenation however I wanted the Ozone to burn up the additional nutrients causing clearer water AND controlled ORP.

I run carbon like crazy to keep clear water and I swear the ozone did a better job in a very short period of time.

Can't wait to see the tank John. Maybe in a week or two post some picks for comparison to see if colors changed.

I anticipate the color will change but I really am curious to see the impacts the irradication of red bugs has.. I'll be doing that Saturday... :( I LOVE MY ACRO CRABS!!!!

Well I ordered the calibration solution but it’s on backorder from our distributor.
But I figured I would need it at some point so I ordered and received a new Pinpoint probe. What is another $40 ;)
I replaced the old one and the ORP jumped from 250 to 320. I’ve been running the O3 for a few days now at maybe 10% 24/7 and everything looks great. The water is clearer then ever. Then again I also added a good amount of carbon to the skimmers output. But this is way better then any carbon has ever done in my system. All of the corals look great. They even seem to have opened up more.
I looked online and the only place I see selling the solution is Marine Depot. I hate to pay $10 in shipping for a $5 item so I may just have to pick up some new toys :D
Thanks for the help
S
