Is this thread really still going on? LMAO :lol::lol:
For those that is here griping about it here. It is better off if you just join in on other discussions post up some pics of your system or what ever other than griping about this very lenient rule on this thread. Like what others has said 50 post is a piece of cake if you contribute to the cause.

I couldn't agree more. :eek::D

Hi I am not sure why I am blocked on selling?

Well said..

Not a swap meet..

Hello can someone please review my account I am not new and I have made many posts I still enjoy this site but I have 4 children and am pretty busy so I may not post often but I have 2 Clown fish that I would still like to sell or trade can someone please get back to me Thank you

What does that mean?

What does that mean? I am just trying to figure out what I need to do to still be a part of this community I have found it to be helpful in many ways but would really like to still have enough post and everything to be included

Respond to this post and ask 4 more questions! :D

If you had read the previous 5 pages, you'd realize that to be able to access the Buy/Sell forums, you must have been a member for 90 days (which you have covered) AND have 50 contributing posts. Typically, if you're going to post to a thread, asking a particular question, it's best to have actually read the entire thread, or at least enough of it to know what it's about.

"Un-subscribed" means that a member was "subscribed" to this particular thread, and canceled that particular subscription, meaning that they won't get email notifications when this thread is posted to.

Hi, I'm pretty new to reeffrontiers, but I just wanted to say that I agree with the new rule. I don't even have enough posts to put a WTS or WTB post up and I'm for the rule. I know a lot of other reef sites that I've looked at 50 posts seems pretty intimidating when you look at the responses a "newbie" question gets, but I just wanted to say that this site is different in my opinion.
I'll admit I was a bit nervous to post on here when I first joined, because I was scared that I'd ask a "stupid question" and then get flammed for it. But every question I've posted on this site has been helpful, supportive, and informative. Thanks to people like Sid and Cross. I look forward to contributing more to this wonderful group.
To me this new rule is actually very helpful for new people because it gives us a little shove to go ahead and ask the "stupid questions" that we were worried about posting. Thank you all for this great site!

I would nongler consider myself completely new but I have asked the so called stupid questions myself and you may get some people who reply back making fun of you ( at least I did) but in general these people really know there stuff and are happy to share thier information so you can bypass many of the bumps that come from being new at something

Well you have 52 posts now, but understand that as a "contributing" member, most of us understand that that means your posts are in some substantial way "contributing" to the education or relative experience of the "membership." Now clearly you went from 39 posts to 52 in a matter of a half hour...hmm. I have not seen your other posts but hopefully they were in some way contributing and fulfill that definition. Usually post spamming and such does NOT meet that standard which is why so many have a problem with it.

I am not trying to spam I just have napping kids and really want to be able to do this so I am not sure what This means. I do not consider myself very knowledgeable when it comes to saltwater tanks many people have been doing this for 10 or more years and we are just about at 3 years now. all I can say is I am here to learn more than anything else. We have lost many great fish in a short time some of it just beacuse we did not have a great system at first and now we have invested in a great sump. I will contibute what I can but to be honest I really believe I am a novice compared to the majority of people on this site.

Well asking questions is a great way to up your post count. That in turn will increase your knowledge and others for that matter. I honestly am not trying to be harsh, it's just that trying to get around the rules just to access a feature on the site that is designed to be a "privilege" not a "right" is not appropriate. Increasing your post count by throwing out useless spam posts is not contributing and is selfish to achieve your goal. You are DEFINITELY not the worst we have seen, but really this is just to explain why we are scrutinous. Remember that this is a "membership" which means we all have a equal responsibility to each other.

As with any board the long term members should be the most understanding. I see several posts from the long time members and it looks as though you are bashing the new people who are trying to understand how this site works.

If you do not want to up their post count, than do not reply with smart comments or bashing. That will just lead to several more threads of questions and upset members.

I hope this is not the way I came across. If so, I apologize.

I personally think that the rules here need to be much more strict, there is way way way too much hijacking and BS chit chat in our informative threads and forums. I wish we would all get back to the real deal and talk reef discussion and take all the stupid nonsess to the social networks! Cheers to you Dewman for raising our standards!!!! Bravo!!!

Cheers
Matt

I kind of agree this this. I have only been here a little over a month and to see a thread that has lots of information be hijacked by one or two people on their own rants is very discouraging. On the other side of that Matt125 if they deleted some of people rants they would go from 6000 to 8000 post count to about 2000 to 3000 post count.

Don't mean to start anything here but it is amazing how the same few people get away with it and others do not.

I would encourage the admins of this site to be strict and keep everyone on track of Reef Keeping, not the chatter or the swap meet style boards.
