    Hello WA

Welcome to here... Suppose from AL, your not gonna listen to us complain about this unreasonable 80 degree heat...LOL. If you are ever bored and up north of Bellingham (60 miles north of Everett), I am usually around (same name on RC). And how bad can two little 300 gallon tanks be... LOL

take live stock from Hawaii back to WA

Or you could just work with some of the local collectors there... get the same things you would get online or at your LFS, and get to catch them yourself legally, and most likely have someone to ship for you when you get home. Actually might make for an interesting vacation memory to see it...

Smoking bad for your fish as well?

I smoke like a chimney and so does my GF and never noticed any ill efects on my tank. Not ideal, but then I shouldn't be smoking either.

    what led light

I would try and match it closer to your current lighting If you have it pretty blue now, then 20K, more white 12K

Adding one Yellow Tang or Two?

with it only being a 70 gallon tank, I assume you are getting pretty small ones and I think you could get away with it with monitering and maybe a divider. I'll skip the usual tang police lecture... LOL.

    take out center brace?

I would, esoecially if you are putting in baffles or the like which would have virtually the same effect if not stronger if properly installed.

    what led light

Keep in mind when you see the term 'PAR38' they are refering to the general shape of the fixture and little more, the spectrums and power are all over the board. The exotic are pretty much ripping off evil66's idea with them, and I think you can get them for less than the listed price there...

Rebirth of an old 300 gallon

easier size reference those powerheads are the mag 8s that everyone complains are too big, and the younger sailfin is 3-4"

Rebirth of an old 300 gallon

Depends on how much of his daily nori sheet he's eaten... well over 1" If you are ever up this way, you are welcome to bring a tape measure.

What is a good timer to buy?

Depending on how much wattage you are pushing through them the hope depot ones and the like are fine. They claim to be rated pretty high on watts, but once I started pushing 1000+ watts through them I was burning them out in months. While spendy, I ended up with an RKE, mostly for lighting...

Rebirth of an old 300 gallon

Just going by the smell, I don't think I would try it inside a tank you would use. This is filling cracks rather than polishing them out by removing material.

how much space do you have. I assume a stock 55 is ideal for it.?

Rebirth of an old 300 gallon

how about some better teasers... I really need to clean the tank today.. sailfins getting along. Next time you think about that cute little sailfin, keep in mind what it grows in to... and the CBB in the lower left is eating... hopefully it can do some damage on my spaghetti worm plague...
