    My First Nano! 15.5 Gallons

Looks good! Make sure that the rocks are at least a couple of inches away from the glass for cleaning.

    Getting Started

I'lll second that. Even though my stand has openings on the side, I almost forgot to properly situate the sump before filling the tank for the very first time.

    Welcome to the hobby Tatz!

    QT Tank started its cycle

The shrimp in will decompose and introduce ammonia to start the cycle.

    Question about 1st tank......

I have two Maxi w/ the AF mods on my 90 gal and it has always been a problem dialing in the flow. Just way too much flow. Either the softies are getting whipped or the sand is blown all over.

    Fuge light cycle

My vote would also be for 24/7. I used to forget to turn it off at night but the chaeto seems to like the light so now, I just leave it on.

    QT Tank started its cycle

I'd recommend turning off the power head(s) when you extract the shrimps. I made the mistake of not doing this and the soft shrimp was pulverized when it was moved across the flow path. What a mess.

    Fish for Nano tanks? :]

Apparently, people don't like damsels :)

    Fish for Nano tanks? :]

Once the initial water complete cycled, I'd put a damsel to test the water out. They are very hardy and could take a lot.

    Help me get started? :P

I just started myself. It was a little overwhelming at first but patience is the key. I'd recommend spending time on this site to glean valuable knowledge as well as establishing relationships with other hobbyists and/or vendors. Things do come up and it's important to have a experience...

    Topping off water...

My vote is to add to the sump. If nothing else, at least it's going to be dispersed a little better than me dumping a bucket straight into the tank.

    Is this skimmer any good?

I also have a Coralife. Seems to work pretty well. Just make sure that you install an elbow for the output otherwise, the water stream gets pretty noisy.

    Seattle aquarium water?

Doh! I was just a Lowes multiple times yesterday. Didn't think to look for a pressure gauge.

    Seattle aquarium water?

I suspect water pressure too. Unfortunately, I don't have a pressure gauge to confirm this. I am tempted to increase my household water pressure but that could be disastrous.

    New Tank w/Sump...need help!

Good luck! I just set my first tank up. Was very intimidating at first but an expert walked me through it on the phone. Glad you found someone willing to come out and help.

    Plumbing help pricing

ABS? Someone once told me to stick to PVC only. I wonder if there's any truth to that.

    Seattle aquarium water?

I went ahead and acquire a RODI unit. It's slower than I imagined but I guess that's pretty normal.

RETURNING TO SALT TANK AFTER 32 yr HIATIS!

Welcome back to the hobby. Don't forget to post pictures once your tank clears up.

Finally got a tank. 60g Solana

Nice looking setup. Patience is the key and this cannot be over stressed. I'm beginning to think of this more as a discipline than a hobby:)
