    One Spot Foxface (Siganus unimaculatus)

First off, I'd like to say how impressed I was with your shop today, and look forward to seeing the shop grow. Bought a One Spot Foxface (Siganus unimaculatus) from you guys today to see if he'll help eradicate my bubble algae problem. He's acclimated, and nipping here and there at the rock. Now...

Looking for RO and possibly DI unit,..kinda confused/lost, need help deciding

You really can't go wrong with anything from Bulk Reef Supply. I just installed my two stage GFO/Carbon reactor from BRS today as a matter of fact! They have great products, and instruction videos on YouTube.

    Best reef salt mix?

I use Tropic Marin. Looking at the website/study posted by NC2WA, this salt was rated one of the highest, but has a high copper content. None of the salts studied though were NSW comparable.....but Tropic Marin, Kent Marine, and Instant Ocean (I think that was the third one), all score the...

    Well hello saltwater world

This hobby is addicting! Welcome to Reef Frontiers! As far as the hosting is concerned, in my case it just happened naturally. I started out with two clowns, who fought initially, and eventually the "alpha" started to realize that the anemone wouldn't harm him, and he started to take naps in...

    Cycling - 90 gallon w/LR & refugium

I'M BAAAAAACK! Wow I have learned so much since March! Upgraded my lighting, upgraded my skimmer, changed up my substrate, added a phosphate reactor, this hobby is killing the bank but I love it! What's new? I'm going to try to get back into the blog again.

    What is this creature?

So are these brittle stars good for a refugium? Are they parasitic? Any ideas/suggestions on these guys? One of them I believe will not survive, as he has gone into the next stage of the sump, no longer in the refugium. Suggestions appreciated.

    What is this creature?

Well I saw two of them, and they both had 3 legs........

    What is this creature?

I found 2 of these crawling up the side of the glass on my refugium today. One of them crawled into stage 3 where my pump and skimmer are, so I don't know how he will survive. It has 3 "legs". Each leg looks similar to a bristle worm. It has 3 small tenticle looking things, don't know if...

    Cycling - 90 gallon w/LR & refugium

Think I'm going with this.................... *UV STERILIZER DIVERTER VALVE Jump to Shopping Cart For use with ponds, sumps, or any high flow water application where the flow rate exceeds the recommended GPH per watt (25-45 gph/Watt). 3 sizes: *¾ inch hose barb inline with ½ inch hose barb...

    Flow rate into sump

Yeah this seems to be my only issue.....so far. Got the water up to par, LR, started adding fish, snails, crabs. Just wish I can resolve this darn sump/pump/flow issue. I don't have an ATS, I have a MTS...manual topoff system. I was thinking about putting the T in, and having the water from the...

    Cycling - 90 gallon w/LR & refugium

Hey guys, I posted this under "New to Reefkeeping". Wonder if you have any suggestions. Flow rate into sump Ok, so I set up my 90 gallon that has a pre-drilled overflow. I have an Aqueon Proflex Sump Model 3 set up as a refugium in the middle stage of the sump. My flow is way too high...

    Flow rate into sump

So again, does the water coming out of the T go into the 3rd stage, or do you focus that flow back into the refugium?

    Flow rate into sump

So here is what I am talking about as far as too much flow into the first stage of my sump. You can see that there is water flowing over the baffle as well as where it is supposed to be flowing out.............

    Flow rate into sump

Saw something like this online, kinda the same deal

    Flow rate into sump

So that black piece sticking out from the T, is that a flow restricting "switch" on top? I have vinyl tubing in my return, don't know how that PVC T would work in mine.

    Flow rate into sump

Anyone have photos that they can share? Would be much appreciated. I'm either going to do what Colin and TJ suggest, or get a pump with lower gph which could also hopefully solve the problem.

    Flow rate into sump

Got that photo yet? Also if I T the return line, should the flow coming out of the T go directly back into the 3rd stage, or into the refugium (2nd stage)?

    Please do. Thanks
