    Some cool fish

Hey Mike, Not trying to steal your thunder - those are great fish - but have you considered the bimacs? They honestly have amazing coloration, very similar to the ventralis, but without the long fins. If it's the color you like, I don't think you'd be unhappy with the bimacs. I did a lot of...

    Recommended Protien Skimmer

Hey, I'm sure you've already decided, but I wanted to give one more thumbs up to the ASMs...I have four of them and if I were to need another skimmer tomorrow I'd buy a fifth! HTH :)

    Some cool fish

Hey, thanks for the welcome guys...I can't believe I haven't found you all until now! And mojo, thanks for the anthias ID...these are the same as Pseudanthias ventralis, right? I found them in my S. Michael Reef Fishes book and the pictures seem to match. Anyway, great fish! Seem to be...

Lets talk about- Clean up crews

In addition, I also agree with your decision on the sand-sifting star...not the best option in my experience. These guys require a substantial amount of food and if you're trying to keep your tank "clean" then there likely won't be much available for them. Like I posted earlier in the thread, I...

Lets talk about- Clean up crews

ehser1: I think you've got a good start to your clean-up crew...I wouldn't want to add too much too quickly. Urchins can be great a eating algae, but need a substantial amount to thrive. It's probably best to wait until (if) you have an abundance of algae before adding one. On a side note...

Tunze Wavebox and AGA 180 with standard overflows

I know of a local guy who has a wavebox on his 180 without any problems. I've heard great things about the wavebox.

I'm no where near you but I bought mine at a local chain called Tractor Supply Company. I think it's tsc.com

Lets talk about- Clean up crews

I don't care too much for any hermits; I've still got a few running around in my systems (mostly in the sump) but I probably won't (knowingly) get any more. I like Astrea snails, and Ceriths, but it seems as though none of them live for an extended amount of time. I probably have 10-15 Astreas...

    Some cool fish

I have a trio of Bimaculatus Anthias, which are "similar" in coloration to the above (I'm assuming they are a different species?) Anyway, mine have brilliant coloration and I've had excellent success keeping them/getting them to eat so far. Just some info for those of you who might like the...
