Coraline, whats the best way to remove it?

I like the cold fresh water idea, that is probably a good way to flush out my chiller as well I would think. I thought about an urchin as well, but I decided to break 'er down instead.

banded coral shrimp. friend or foe?

I was so mad at mine I took it back to the store and said "Throw it in the Trigger tank!" But they wouldn't do it. Now I am glad, it was not his fault, he did not ask to be captured and put in my tank.

banded coral shrimp. friend or foe?

I think it depends on the size of the tank. I had one in my 36 for a while and I swear he ate my yasa hashe goby and possum wrasse. In the smaller tanks I think they get too territorial. He was nasty, even use to try to pinch me when I cleaned the tank.

    My pump is too loud!

Hey Finn, thanks for the tip. I went to "That Kitchen Shop" in the mall and got two of those things. The ones I got were ribbed so they messed with each other. I put them under the mag 5 and it is alot quieter. Not super quiet but much much better. Well worth the 20 bucks for those pads.

    Peppermint Shrimp eating Hammerhead

I had a couple peppermints in my tank that got a little feisty. I didn't feed the tank for a couple days and tied a cocktail shrimp to a chopstick and held it in the tank and scooped them up when the came for the shrimp. Got them both in about 5 minutes.

    My pump is too loud!

Thanks for all the input, This is an in-sump pump under water, are you saying putting foam or silicone in the water? That sounds like an easy fix, and yes at times it does rattle on the side of the sump, then its really loud.

    My pump is too loud!

I have a Mag-5 for my return pump and it is just too darn loud. Its been running for about a year now, is there anything I can do to quiet it down? Would a good cleaning make a difference or is that just the way the Mag pumps are? Are they any other brands that run quieter? Its harshing the...

    Mandarin Dragonette Eats Bloodworms?

even if they do eat the frozen foods they can be out competed by aggressive feeding fish. I have cherub angel that goes out of his way to get the food before my scooter dragonette gets some, the little pig.

    Ten Good Reasons

Its funny, I got into reef keeping a couple years ago, I used to have fresh water but always wanted to try salt. I talked to a bunch of people and 3 of them told me "don't do it, go with a fresh water planted tank, you will be so much happier" Its the only hobby I have been in that people...
