Well I'm happy today...came home from a round of golf and noticed all the aptasia that was on a large piece of l/r I used to seed the tank is gone! My trusty one and only peppermint took out the small ones and larger ones. May have to re-think a flame hawk for this tank...hmm well see...:)

You got some nice pics! Are all those pics untouched? What macro lens are you using? I'm thinking about the canon 105mm or Sigma 150mm Macro lens.

Thanks! All I did was put them into Photoshop and apply a little bit of sharpening and contrast and then put my log on it. Most were taken with my 17-40mm f/4L lens, a few were taken with my buddie's 180mm f/3.5L Macro lens. I love that lens but too much $$$ for just shooting my tank.

I want to take pics without having to retouch them in any program. I feel that is the best way to represent a coral. What would be the best lens for that?

Any macro lens will do, that will allow you to get close up and see all the detail. Some are better than others though, just read reviews online. Typically with lenses though the more expensive really means better.

Off to Puerto Vallarta tomorrow! Wish me luck and see everybody next week! When I get back I'll be adding fish... finally!!!! I'll try and get some good pics to share...:D

Still packing and we leave in our place in 2 hrs...yikes! We should be fine since were in a tourist area but hey maybe I'll join in with one of the cartels. Would have lots of money for my reef tank...

The mexican police cheif was snatched off a tourist area by the cartels and beheaded about 3 months ago. Some crazy stuff going on there at the moment. Have fun!!!

Yeah, I think Mexico would be the last place I'd be going right now. I doubt you'll read this until you get back, but hope you had a lot of fun and everything was ok. Call me and we'll make a run up to Barrier.
