Sweet! Good thinkin!

I only run the felt when i'm at work and take it out at night to the the tank do it's thing. Some folks may be upset but as i can grab critters like snails, crabs and shrimp i'm putting them in the new tank to help with cleanup. The fighting conch snail is loving life in the new tank the sand is turning brown/green and he's in heaven. I see trails everywhere in the sand. He's a work horse!

So how does the tank look now. post some pics. Petco finally got more 40b in so i bought 2 today. now im looking at glass holes for the overflow. How are you likeing your's?

it's working great a little loud for the office, i might go with an over sized one might help with the noise. but had no problem cutting the glass except the sump as you well know. HeHe but that was my fault. skimmer comes tomorrow and that should help with the micro-bubbles. but the flow is perfect and the livestock is doing well. no deaths except a snail to report. and i think he was dying when i put him in there anyway.

so r u still having to run with the ball valve almost closed. or did you get a different pump?

opps nevermind i just reread the last page. So taking everyother tooth out helped with the pump.

Is that sump at a safe water level incase of a power outage? Other than that looks like a great build.

Yeah i can run the pump wide open through the 1/2" back flow preventer and not worry about flooding the display tank

I've not set up the ATO yet but yes I've tested it like 10 times and still have an inch or 2 left in the sump once the overflow is done draining,

As I see it i have 3 problems.

Problem #1 if the power goes out and I'm not around the water syphons back down to the sump via the return pump nozzles. I think if i can find a 3/4" back flow preventer I can solve that problem.

I got my 3/4" Check Valve from Marine Depot, works great! Started out with one from the hardware store but it was spring loaded and not effective as the spring rusted fast and stayed open...definitely go with the flapper style.

Yeah like i said when you were over they need to either sit higher in the tank or have some better lights. When you get it back up and running let me know you can have some frags of what used to be in there too from my office at work. Send the corals back home! Also towards the end i might have neglected it 29gallon Biocube a little to much. Glad it has a nice new home. Take good care of it. It was nice to meet you!

Looking good Jesse! Lets see some more pics! =) How come the zoas were dying in the BioCube? =( Not enough light?

The fighting conch is the work horse of the aquarium. The only one pulling his weight.

I agree i got the flapper style 1/2" which reduces the flow from the pump too 500-600 gph and also closes the second the pump stops. Tested it like 20 times now and it works great.

;) I bet those will even end up looking better under your lighting. Wait until the red with teal colors up! My middle MH ballast went out and that is why it is a little darker than normal. Glad you like them. If there is something you don't like, feel free to sell/trade. :D

I really like them all. I'm more of a collector than a fragger. But if you saw something you liked in my home tank let me know and we can get you some pieces. I figure I owe you now.
