just to update, all the hair algae is gone and so are the phosphates. it has been eight weeks since i set it up , so i figured it was time for a little more difficult coral so i got a hammer. i also got a lionfish. yes i know ,they aren't a good idea for shrimp but the peppermints only come out at night and the lionfish is about 3"long(now) i hope that by the time he will be able to eat them, he will be too happy eating the silversides and krill to notice them! i have some pics and when i get home i will post them.

it has been awhile...

so i thought i would add some new pics. i have added alot of new corals an acro, hammer, pagoda, bubble, clam, candycane etc.. lionfish and a kole tang.
still have a on again off again hair algae problem. if you can spot the mantis shrimp in the full tank shot please point it out to me! ;)

Wow! Great clam!! Tank looks really good! Thanks for the update.

Find the hidden mantis.......I see it! It is waving at you in the photo. j/k ;)

update

it has been over a year since i posted any pics of my tank so i have a few to show you. i measured the toadstool in the center of the tank today. it is 14" across and 16" high. it kind of dominates the tank when it is fully expanded.

Tank is looking great! Any equipment changes over the past year?

the only changes are the addition of 2 rio 2500's for more flow. i use b-ionic and i change 25% every 2 to 3 weeks. other than new bulbs, that's about it.
