s-l-o-w-l-y......remember the best thing going for you is time...

do you have a list of fish you want to add??

I'm about ready to get rid of this stupid tank. Last night I was trying to put up my lights and dropped a screw in my tank. When I went for it I slipped and pulled out one of my closed loop lines....this is the best build for everyone on what not to do! Anyway about 10 gallons of water on the ground last night. Woke up to most of it gone and attempted to glue the stupid flex pipe back. So we'll see when I get home how it worked I guess....

Yeah been there done that....sorry i had a few pieces of glass i wanted to give you when you came over for just such an occasion. i put them over the top of the tank while doing work. Any instead of a screw I dropped a drill bit. Found it months later in the rocks all rusted and decaying. Let me know when you ready for visitors or if you need any help.

I should be in town next week and my son in law lives up by Jesse so if you need help all you have to do is ask.

.

How's all the livestock doing? I bet all of it is much happier, in your big tank, than they've been while I was tank sitting it in the 40 and stock tank!! LOL Now to set up the 40 as a frag tank again!! Oh I found your big blue legged hermit crab...lol. Thought it was a dead Turbo, until it moved.

Thanks Jesse and total vapor. I'm thinking of just knocking it out tonight. Getting the lights up and hopefully filling the tank back up. What are you up to tonight Jesse? :)

lol...No kidding! Well thanks to Jesse's help we got the lights up and everything is up and running for now! haha here are some pics as promised!

More to come this weekend!

No, the hood isn't finished but at least its working and thats all I can ask for at this point! ahhaha :)

hey i was just proud we did not damage anything. only progress was made tonight. The fish and coral all looked much happier with the lights on. Can't wait to see it again when more is added and things start opening up! If nothing else try to get a daylight bulb with a clip on light fixture from home depot on that chetto.... you'll see the water start clearing up asap..protein skimmer will help too. Good work!

Do you have any filter socks to throw on till it clears up??
might help..
The rocks are cool and love those tangs!

yeah a filter sock would be good but he's got his gravity returns about 4"-6" above the sump waters surface for oxygenation. Not sure a sock would work but maybe as a temporary filtration device to polish that water up. Heck it (MIGHT) even help cut down with the splashing? who knows? Once he get the skimmer working he won't have to worry about oxygenation as much.

Very true! Maybe I should make some to help out with that. The splashing drives me nuts. The sand did settle before I ripped out the hose and started everything back up again. So it should settle back down by tomorrow. I'm just happy its up! :)
