Is the rock coming out of the surface a waterfall? I really like that idea! Has the exposed rock caused any issues? Sorry if you addressed these, just skimmed the thread and saw the picture!

Yes, the rock is a waterfall/volcano. It hasn't caused any issues, I actually think it acts like part of the filtration system. Coralline grows on it, I even threw a few pieces of sps, they survived just fine. The snails climb up there and graze there too, so it looks pretty cool when they do do that.
