Noticing my parameters are off in a way Ive never experienced before and im not exaclty sure what I should do.

75 gallon bare bottem SPS tank 8 years old with 30gallon sump, Last month took mg up to 2200 to get rid of bryopsis. It work by the way. so here goes.

phos 0
nitrates 0

calcium is 290

alk is 14.5 dkh
mag is 1900 ppm
salinity is 1.025
ph is 8.2

temp is 77 consistantly, chiller

have a calcium reactor
been dripping Kalk for the last 4 days since calcium was at 220
10 percent water change weekly with tunze salt

got new elos kitts today, to check if my saliforts were getting old. Tested multiple times and got consistant results.

What suggestions?

Am I right to think maybe I should just do a large water change?

thanks guys for any input

I would do a 40% WC and then retest. Then after a day or so If the ionic balance is still way off, I'd do it again. repeat every two days unitl things are balanced

thats what i was wondering

if my my magnesium wasnt so high I could ad CaCl right?

that might raise my alk and salinity though right?
and they are at the high end already so i dont want to do that

water changes it is then!!
thanks

WC's are the sure fire way to set things straight quickly. By adding more supplements you'll likely fight with swinging parameters for weeks.
