Haha Peppie!! You'll be surprised at just how good I can build. I've built all my other stands and canopy's. I think you are just looking for a free trip to the Bahamas:lol:

Thanks Lorrie and Peppie. I have a hurricane to worry about first. It's supposed to be a category 3 by the time it gets here which means winds in excess of 125 mph . If you guys don't hear much from me after Wednesday that means the hurricane took out my Internet service provider.

Kansas City, MO Weather / Stormpulse / Hurricanes, severe weather, tracking, mapping

Check that out Krish!

I don't care If it takes you a year to build this tank, it don't matter, this will give you move time to detail the progress for us!:D

Heck Krish, my little tank is still a work in progress, I might be finished after yours LOL!:pray2:

Is it a true cube or an irregular haxahedron....

Sorry there was a 41 page thread on reef central from some guy ranting that it isn't a cube unless all dimensions were the same....yeah a little retentive.

The two I was looking at were the 18x18x18 and the 24x24x24 so true cubes. Will think about it a bit more until he gets back. Still considering a custom acrylic tank, but leaning more towards glass. I have a thing about having an acrylic tank at start up. You have to mess with the walls too much going through the different algae and diatoms phases and don't want to scratch the acrylic. I prefer to switch or use an acrylic tank when I have a mature system that doesn't need tinkering with. :)

So peer pressure is a serious thing (thank you Scooty):laser:. My buddy is on vacation for about another week and when he gets back I will have him order my tank. There is one I had checked on (not a standard tank we are use to buying) but told him to hold off when I got into the accident. When he gets back I'll have him order it and post a photo of it when I get it with this dude --->:p <--- sticking his tongue at you! It will be a very slow build because of what I have going on and want this to be a one shot deal. Get it done right from the start so I don't have to re-do anything wishing it was another way. Already a bit excited! Most I can say about the tank is it is a perfect cube made out of glass. :)

Next Poll, does this tank actually get saltwater and livestock in it before Krish's plans change?

I hear there is a little wind and rain coming your way. Be safe and keep us posted. It's supposed to run into my neck of the woods on Sun/Mon. First hurricane since 1991.

Thanks man...I wish you guys well as well. Hopefully it turns from you guys. Take a look at my bull shark thread I just posted. Irene brings more than wind

So life once again threw me a nice curve ball. :doubt:. I wanted to surprise you Scooty with a new thread showing off my new tank and once again, something put a hold on my plans :doubt:. I had that nano setup ready to go last year and sold it to my buddy to get something a bit better then got in that accident and things went downhill from there with treatments/therapy etc. Well, I come home yesterday to a house sitting at 84 degrees...And that's inside!. Our central air kicked the bucket! The Bahamas is not a cold place. We run ac 24/7 here 365 days a year. The great news is, there are none on the island to replace it with going by the size we need etc so one has to be imported. With import duty rates being so high on air condition units after all is said and done, we are looking at forking out another 4K atleast which we didn't anticipate. We figured we will go with something very energy efficient because our last 3 electricity bills have been $978, $950, and $970 so the tank is on hold once again...I'm starting to feel like those that voted "never" because it's just always one thing after the other :doubt:. Luckily though, when the extension was added on to our house to extend the living room and add on a spare bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet, a duckless unit was installed to run that bedroom (which is currently being used as a toy room for the kids and gym for me). So now, everything is pushed to the side and we have our matresses on the floor in there so we can sleep in the cool until we can import and have the new unit installed! Gotta love it!!! I don't see a new tank happening until sometime next year if nothing else happens.

4K for a replacement A/C is dirt cheap, I paid 7 for mine and the was like 8 years ago lol!

Well I'm just estimating it going by prices they have here for a 4 ton unit. The problem is they are all 13 seer (sp?) and we want atleast a 16. The 4 ton 13's run about $3500 here. Then our attic opening is so small that they will have to chop out some of the ceiling to get the old blower out and the new one in. I guess 4k is me living in a dream world??

forgot 4K, my mine is blown away with the month electric bill...darn !!!

Tell me about it!! It use to be in the $500 range and then wham!! Then when you factor in all of your other bills like $1600 a month mortgage on the house, $900 a month medical insurance for the whole family, school fees about $1500 per term (3 terms) and i have another one soon starting school in another year, house insurance, car insurance, life insurance, housekeeper 5 days a week, food, gas and on and on and on I wonder sometimes how some people actually do it or even us lol. It's crazy!!!! I might have to become a male gigaloo like deuce bigalow

Krish,
As most of us know, life is always throwing us a curve ball. We must learn to adapt and adjust.
Sorry to hear your AC took a dump. There must be a bright side to it somewhere, it just hasnt reared it pretty face yet.
As for your tank. Good things come to those who wait!!!!

Thanks Peppie!! All a part of life! The way I'm looking at it was the ac needed to go anyways because it was an old unit and was our main source of energy consumption. Whenever the ac compressor kicked in, I use to watch our electric meter spin like a top so I'd imaging changing to something more energy efficient will pay for itself in the long run. It's all good. Hopefully the weather is good tomorrow so we can go in the boat and I can swim around my free reefs!! :D
