    Risky

I have been spending lots and lots and lots of money on my quad getting it ready for dunes season. We are building a new house and I am basically building the basement around the tank, so I am going to have to pick Mike's brain on that a little. I want as much of it as possible to be...

    Risky

I just wanted to take a second to say a big thank you to Mike(mojoreef) The guy is such a diehard in this hobby he always goes above and beyond for everyone and the best thing about him is that there really isn't anything that he hasn't seen or tried in this hobby. So, on the verge of asking...

Lets talk about lighting for a minute

scooter, True but I want to view the tank when I am actually home ;) The way I have it figured right now the lights will come on around 10:30 and go off around 7:00pm so that will leave me with about 4hrs of dark tank until I hit the rack. Mojo told me I wanted the two 20's on the ends and...

Lets talk about lighting for a minute

So I know that you want an odd number of lights as far as MH's go over your tank to get the proper mixing. In my case 2-20k on each end and a 10k in the middle. My question is, does anyone notice any sort of measurable difference or advantage to supplementing with actinics and the 10k bulbs...

    New Skimmer

36db is pretty quiet. An average adult conversation is about 55db if I remember right http://www.coolmath.com/decibels1.htm http://www.800nonoise.com/tutorial_noiselist.htm

    My new 210 is home

none really to speak of. Starboard is cut stand is done skimmer and sump are done. Still no lights or in tank water movement to speak of. I have been working away on the top for the stand so I can at least get water in it and get my rock ordered and start the cycle.

    Mojo's Airtones Clone Skimmer =)

not really because of the PSI rating on the pump. I believe Mike said that you could run that pump up to 30' away without any loss. isaac

I think I can, thought I could, so I did

Mike, Why dont you tell us what your tank is made of and who built it....if you are so intent on being negative in this thread why bother posting at all? Isaac

I think I can, thought I could, so I did

Mike, All I am saying is why doom the tank before it was even finished? If you cant applaud the guy for wanting to do it himself then why even comment at all? les felt that he had enough knowledge to it himself so he tried it and it looks like it held water anyways, thats the first step right...

its all in the top is it not? Why spend more money on 3/4" or even 1'(getting real close to bulletproof) if you are only going 24" high? I dont see an issue with building it out of 1/2" but then again what the hell do I know ;)

    thetedinator's 325g Semi-Cube.....

    Thanks Seattle

AH HA!! so you do see some use for the wavebox ;) hehe Honestly though your presentation was a huge help and a great learning experience for me to see where all of these critters come from and how they exist in the wild. Hope to have you back soon!

Lets talk about Controlling Algae in a BB system!

Eric, Are there any issues with predation in using a Long-Spine sea urchin and soft corals? I mentioned this animal to a friend of mine that is experiencing a HUGE hair alage bloom, possibly from Oceanic salt, and he was worried about the LSSU eating his zoanthids and leathers. Isaac
