    what are these?

Why boil? Remove frag and brush off with fresh water dip or high salinity dip then a rinse. Boil kills to much life then rock would need to recycle before adding back in.

    Sudden Tissue Recession...why

PH will tend to swing due to daily tank activitys. This tends to level out as tank matures and water levels stay steady. For PH test in the morning around the same time for most accurate readings. Bleaching or tissue reduction around the edges usually means low food source and it will continue...

    Help! overflow issue

Cant test tap water by the batch. Tap adds unwanted elements in small amounts that increase to points thats hard to fix and confuses you by where the source came from. Also could add many unwanted elemts you dont test for. All it takes is a bad water change to cause problems as city water is...

    Sea Apple?

They are a expert invert. Reason being they like mature astablished tanks with steady level water readings. And many fish will pick at them. If it dies then you could lose lots if not all your stock. So geting one means your ricking all your time and money on one purchase. I wouldnt.

    Help! overflow issue

You cant get the flow you need in the main tank from the return pump. And if you did then your refug or sump will suffer. You want between 300 to 600 GPH through the sump and in your main 265 gallon you want more around 5300 GPH of water circulation. You will need additional powerheads to...

Why does this Rose Bubble tip keep splitting?

Feeding and water conditions. If both up to par then this would cause it. Also may have been ready to split whene bought and anything that multiplys that fast would be a pest in my tank.

    Is this GSM's spawning ?

Bad pic and i think you mean the anemone or BTA? Bta's usually multiply by splitting in to two. I would think it was from a snail or worm in the area spawning.

    Better Water for FOWLR

How much LR do you have and the tank size? How is the LR placed? Loose and lets water flow through and around or packed and might have many low or no flow spots. But a skimmer and very good water movement along with proper water change scedule and feeding habits. Without good flow then your...

Question about live sand and rock.

A small piece of lava rock might be fine but to much isnt good. You need a minimum of 1 lb per gallon and useing reef type rock is best to avoid any future unwanted problems. In this hobby most major problems take time to appear and this makes fixing much harder and dollar loses much higher...

    Need: Skimmer suggestions

With only 2 fish and minimum amount of LR and LS with good water flow and proper feeding then a small inexpensive skimmer would be fine. This would prevent overskimmer thats not good and reduce the micro bubbles and collect any dissolved solids.

    very hot weather

Just raise it and you should be fine. I would turn them off for a day or two then turn back on after they are raised and monitor temp and readjust the hiegth.

    very hot weather

Wow , do you have any coral? I would raise it to 12 inches and get it 1 week to see amount the temp drops and readjust from there.

    very hot weather

A frozen bottle works for me.It will drop 2 or 3 degrees. But ahy is it so hot. Is your light to close or is the tank covered or do you have the tank by a window or on the upper floor? A fuge or sump under the tank would help cool your tank. Some fans blowing across the top or some filter or...
