    BTA ?s

Update... GBTA is doing well. Really expanding quite nicely, and looking very healthy. Still kinda behind all the rocks in the back of the tank, but each day seems to be stretching further and further to collect light. My ocellaris clown has taken to the GBTA quite nicely as well. I love...

    Attaching Mushrooms

Well, I've started fragging some things in my tank, as stuff is just growing like weeds. As far as mushrooms go, what different types are there of getting a frag to attach to a rock? I tried the toothpick method that I used with the xenia (that worked like a charm), but they didn't stay.

    Let's See Some Zoos!

Here's some of mine. I love the color combos in all the zoos, an endless amount of colors.

    Glass top on a tank

glass is a good protector for your lighting, though it does diffuse the light somewhat. Not much at first, but salt deposits build up on it fast, and you constantly have to clean it to keep it clear. I had the same problem when I first started. What I use now is egg-crate. It doesn't diffuse...

    UIC - UnIdentified Coral

I'm thinking with the green mouth that its a zoanthid, but the way you describe it when you take it out of the water, it might be an anemone. Does the tentacles and everything fold in over the mouth when you take it out of the water? Or does the entire thing retract into the rock its on?

    Good overflow or not?

Looks good to me. I'm not too familiar with this type of overflow, as I have the U-tube version, but I've heard many good things about weir type overflows. As was stated earlier, a mod might be necessary to help it keep the siphon.

    Pickling Lime

Well I've checked a couple of the local Wal-marts here, and no one seems to have any. I really want to find it locally, because I'm gonna need it very soon. Has anyone had any luck finding it in chain grocery stores (Albertsons, Savemart, etc.)?

    BTA ?s

Thanks, will do. Got it on Saturday, and it seems to be doing well, although it is still in the back of my tank, kinda tucked away, but I can see him a little bit. He looks healthy and everything, and extends further and further each day.

    Krish's Bahamian Photo log

I love all of your pictures, these are awesome! Can't wait for more, and I'm glad you're okay after that bad day!

    Clown Advise!

returnofsid is correct, I too have read and have experience in keeping more than one species of clownfish in a tank. In my 55g tank, I have an ocellaris clown and pink skunk clown, both about the same size, and they get along great.

    BTA ?s

Okay, I've got a few questions. Now before I purchased the GBTA, I did my homework on them, and researched quite a bit, but now that the anemone is in my tank, I'm nervous and really want it to do well, and might feel a little more at ease, if I can get a few opinions. First, when I purchased...

    GBTA and Water Flow

Ilham, it is not uni-directional flow, but rather a combination of two powerheads, and return lines from the sump, that is making up the flow in the tank, the powerheads and return lines are pointed toward the front glass, so when the current hits the glass, it blows in all sorts of different...

    GBTA and Water Flow

General GBTA ?s Okay, I've got a few more questions. Now before I purchased the GBTA, I did my homework on them, and researched quite a bit, but now that the anemone is in my tank, I'm nervous and really want it to do well, and might feel a little more at ease, if I can get a few opinions...

    GBTA and Water Flow

How much flow do GBTAs like? I just purchase one, and placed them in an area with somewhat strong current. It stayed there all night and this morning (haven't been home yet to check on it today). The current seems to be really moving the tentacles a lot, but the anemone seems to be happy...

    Shark Week Starts Tonight

I agree Spongeboblover, I'd love to see a week dedicated to reefkeeping. But I do love sharkweek, so I can't wait to tell my wife. She loves sharkweek!

Sump design. Let me know what you think!!!

The design is great. I have a 55 gallon tank, and have an old 10g glass tank as my sump, which works great! As has been said earlier, I'd get rid of the sponge (sponges are huge nitrate traps). Keep us updated!

    Yellow Tang or Six Line?

I have a yellow tang and sixline wrasse, and love them both. The yellow tang, IMO, is a staple in the marine aquarium. It's the first fish I think of when I think of a saltwater aquarium. The sixline is a beautiful addition to a tank, constantly foraging in your live rock. Will also help...

    BABY snail...

Is the baby snail's shell a mix between tan and white? If so, it's actually not a baby snail, they are called nerites. They won't get any bigger, they stay very small, and are great for your tank. They mainly come out at night and eat algae/detritus.

    Feeding smaller clams

That is what I had heard too, was that the 1" clams can be difficult to keep. I didn't know that it didn't matter if you fed them or not. So anything above 1" has a lower mortality rate? there were some that I was interested in that were a little larger, but still smaller than the 3" minimum...
