    Sump

Try to get 2 or 3 filter socks so you can change them out ever 3-7 days to prevent Nitrates. That way you have another one to swap out while washing the other. Just don't use regular clothes detergent. Use only bleach & water.

    Intake mod...save lives!

Closed loop. Trying to avoid reef puree! fly guy, I'm finally getting around to drilling my 90 gallon tank in the near future and add an overflow as well as separate bulkheads for a closed loop system. I have a Reeflo Dart external pump (3600 gph) that I plan on using for a closed loop...

Advice on dry Walling around my 120

I would recommend using cement or concrete board. It is not much more expensive than standard drywall, and it will not rot or mildew like typical paper drywall. It is recommended to use cement board in bathrooms due to the moisture which I would relate to an aquarium. If you ever watch Mike...

    Seachem ParaGuard in QT

I just received an online order of fishes from Saltwaterfish.com which I am extremely happy with thus far (first online live order ever). I currently have all of the fishes in a 55 gallon quarantine tank. I am thinking about keeping them in there for about 2 weeks with Seachem ParaGuard to treat...

    Lighting Advice?

Premium Aquatics (a Reef Frontiers sponsor) has the PFO Mini 250 watt HQI pendant which are only 7.5" wide. I have a pair of them that I'm about to setup on a 90 gallon with IceCap and Coralvue electronic ballasts. The PFO mini's use HQI or DE (double ended bulbs). I plan to supplement them...

    diy internall overflow box.....

Use glass! Acrylic does not bond well to glass. I would suggest using inexpensive pieces of glass to create your overflow. Here are some photos that I got off of someone's thread, unfortunately I don't remember from where. I apologize for not being able to give credit where credit is do...

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

Thanks, David! Yours has it going on too! Ron, I know I read it somewhere over the past few days but I can't seem to find it again! From what I recall, the blue housing was of a seethrough plastic material that easily broke if overtightened. Reeflo supposedly changed over to that harder...

    Sequence Dart for closed loop

Ron, Which Reeflo Dart do you have? Blue or black housing? From the little research I have done, the blue housing is the older model which was recently replaced because the housing would crack easily.
