Shot this video of my Zebra Eel last week, neat to see him all the way out.

Wow that eel is BIG! So what and how much do you feed it? He's big enough to make some of those other fish you have a snack!
Great tank by the way. Its huge too. Love it!

Well, there's a bit of the green stuff showing up in the tank so I decided to change my DI resin canisters out (BRS refills). The TDS meter wasn't reading anything but the resin has about turned color completely. Hopefully the change will be enough to make the green hair algae vanish...:laser:ALGAE

I hope it is just the DI resin Devon, if not you are gonna have to look elsewhere, and believe me, that gets to be a pain in the rear as you well know.

Hey Devon..very nice eel there. Debbie was watching him swim around and wondered about the wisdom of putting a predator like that in a tank full of expensive prey species (Achilles Tang came to my mind). I know Dan was talking about the relative aggressiveness of various eels, so how is this guy?...I want to get one, gonna get the screen tops for the display done first before I even talk about getting one...what do you feed him/how often all that stuff?
Algae in your tank...good times! I am slowly-finally-at long last getting a slowing of algae growth and even retreat or no growth when removed in most locations. I have been running GFO followed by carbon for 2 months in a couple of BRS media reactors, and have not changed anything else.
Still workin' on the Apex...

I bought him a few years ago when he was a little over 14 inches long. I think he's about 3 feet long now. He eats 2-3 large shrimp every 4-7 days. He doesn't usually come all the way out of the rocks though!

Great eel for my tank. Pretty lethargic, unlike the other moray eels I've had in the past. This guy hardly comes out of the rocks (the video was a rare full body glimpse). I've raised this eel by feeding him pieces of shrimp from a feeding stick or long pinchers. He's doesn't go after the fish at all as I think they eat crustaceans primarily in the wild.

I picked up a new camera for work and thought I would try it out on the tank. :becky: Here are a "few" videos I've recently recorded. All but the Mantis Shrimp video (iphone) were taken with a Sony Handycam HDR-XR260V from Bestbuy. (Reef Frontiers says I can only include one video per post so I will make a few posts)
