This will be the light for the fuge chamber. I dont want it to throw lite into the show tank at nite when the moon lites are on. So I came up with a sliding panel that will hang from the top of the hood
110_2209.jpg

Built a T-slot out of some pine
110_2209.jpg

next I glued the panel to a strip of plastic and then glued on a return piece
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&current=110_2214.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2214.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&current=110_2215.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2215.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
All that was left to do was screw the track to the hood
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&current=110_2206.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2206.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
now I can slid it out of the way to get to the fuge.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&current=110_2207.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2207.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
It will be open to the back of the hood to keep the heat level down
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&current=110_2208.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2208.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Next I will install a 12'' x 17'' piece of glass to the far left hand side of the hood. I have two 12'' T-5s that are not for aquarium use. I thought it best to try to keep them as dry as possible. I also have 2 130watt Aqualite Comp Flor and two moon lites to fit in the hood.

It is time for an update. The build from here was some what simpler. The stand and hood were built last winter when the tank was put together.
I used 3/4 plywood for the sides and bottom. the top is 1 1/2''. All sides have an opening cut in it from a solid sheet of plywood. I can get anything in and out. A couple of doors and a set of hinges and alittle color and I was ready to set it all in place.
The tank had been in place and cycling for about two weeks when I noticed the bottom of the tank had water weeping under it. (crap I didnt use Countertop laminate under the tank). I figured the bottom of the tank wasnt sealed. I drained the tank ( wife said it was a big mess) Siliconed the bottom corner all the way around. Let it dry a day and filled her back up. Oh yea I put down some laminate before the tanf was put back in place. Looked good for about 2 week and then here come the seeping again. OMG.
Sorry gotta go more later.

In the first week the tank was running I had to cut the teeth deeper in three of the filter chambers. The flow was much different after the media and the skimmers were set in place. It was no big deal took about an hour.
As for the underside of the tank weeping water I was ready to pull my hair out and wish I had bought a new tank for this build. I took a long look at what the real problem was instead of assuming. The water level in the DT was hiting the top bracing, so the water would wick some were thru that seam and then to the corner brace and down the corner of the tank to the bottom.
I needed to cut the teeth in the overflow about 3/8''. Damn. By the time I had got all of this figured out the tank had been stock with live critters. It took longer than an hour for this little adjustment. I also siliconed the top corner at this time and ran powerheads for 24 hour before turning the return pumps back on. I will post pics soon, and let you know if my tank is happy or weeping. LOL

A couple of pics of the stand. It is not like my last two stands, which were high end
woodworking. This is much more basic.

The blue tank in the stand is a 8gal freshwater holding for the Ato. I painted it to help keep the algea from growing in there. I have lots of room. The stand was meant to hold a sump. It still may someday.
I had to build a stand for the stand to sit on. It will slid out of the corner it is tucked into when the tank is to go away.

Last winter I tried my hand at man made rocks to fit this tank. They were soaked in freshwater for about nine months and then in saltwater for a month before they were added to this tank. This one is the base structure for the left side of the tank.

This is to be the show case rock. This one turned out really good.

The underside of the hood is nothing special . The led moon lite strip in the middle is worthless. The small one on the left end rocks. Seems like it is 3 Xs as bright.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2286.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2286.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I need the tank to set away from the wall, as did the stand. I didnt want to see behind there.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2288.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2288.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So I scribed a 1/4'' X 75'' tall piece of wood to fill in the gap behind the tank and wall.

OK. Some pics of the whole ball of wax. This is the living room view. I see this side of the tank as I walk to the kitchen.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2261.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2261.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Notice the blue background from this view of the tank. On the front view it is black. I made a cardboard panel and covered it with a marble blue fabric and set it on the outside of the tank. It makes cleaning the inside of the tank with the magnet easy.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2261.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2261.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2254.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2254.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I have to keep corals that will do good with CF lighting. I have 2 130watt fixtures so that is 260watts for 60gal of DT. That is alittle over 4watts per gal. I am saving for a led upgrade. For now I like my large toadstool. I have done my rockscape to make it the focal point of the tank.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2293.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2293.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The rock I made give the toadstool its own stadium.

I will post some pics of the other side of the tank later. I am going to try something different with the camera.

Really nice man! This is the first tank I've seen using a black wall on one side and blue on the other. Came out pretty nice! :)

I got a new to in the mail
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2339.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2339.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

It fit right into the chamber like a glove. I love it when a plan comes together.
<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2340.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2340.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I did a 10 hr break in in a spare 10gal tank with a vineger water mix. I also checked for leakd and made sure it would start and stop.

<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/?action=view&current=110_2341.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank%20Update/110_2341.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I didnt want any leaks so i installed an overflow to the cup.

All of this is going to change very soon. I dont like the piled up rock look.LOL

Thanks Crazyfish
The frogspawn is doing great. It has already stung a small kenya tree. The frag has been moved and is looking better.
