Today we got the 100g acrylic sump soaking in it's vinegar bath as well as the Kalk stirrer. We have been cooking rocks for the last few days and have a few more to go. We only have 20-30 gal totes to soak them in so it's a small batch at a time but we have three stages set up. 24-48 hours in a bleach/water solution, 24-48 hours in a vinegar/water solution then 24-48 hours in straight FW. Then we are laying them out in the sun (for as long as it sticks around) to dry. Then they will go in to curing tank with the other clean rock that's been there for 4 months+. Also drilled my first glass tank today. No issues and it came out perfect. Too bad it's not ours but now I know I can drill the 40 for my office .

Its always good to practice on someone else's stuff. Yea you may be a little nervous, but that will soon pass when you realize you have nothing to lose.

I saw the progress today and this is going to be a sweet setup. That stand is great. It's huge inside. I love it.

OK people. Brushing off the cobwebs now. Gonna see some new progress right around the corner. Got some good planning and ideas down in my time away from the build. I've just been detained form putting any of them into reality until now. So it's time to get back into the garage and get the sump done and plumb this bugger up to get it wet. Dave, we need to go get some wood...

Becca has gotten tired of Eric dragging his feet. She fired him and hired me.LOL And as most of you know I like my camera.
Eric stopped by a few days ago and we got started making the door frames to his stand. It will have an inset panel, so we made a jig to rout out the inset.
We got all the doors glued up and a good start on the insets before we called it a day.
I finished up the doors frames the next day
Next up are the panels. Becca wanted a Fiddle Back Maple for the face of the panels. I know a good source down south that has what the doctor ordered for a very good price. We will glue the 1/4'' blanks to a 1/4'' plywood backer.
This is the panels edge glued together

Sorry I am not able to post a pic of the panel all glued up until I summit the proper forms to Becca for a release approval.

PS. There is a large pool of drool on my shop floor due to the exceptional figure in this wood.

Sweet...Good call on Becca's part (pats self on back) and thank you for updating our build thread . Everything is coming together nicely. And speaking on behalf of Eric, (and myself of course), We are having an incredibly amazingly fantastically relaxing honeymoon.
