looks like your new skimmer fits in the sump and in the stand very well.
How long has it been running?

Had it running 2 weeks, testing for water leaks, now is off untill I get about 100 more gallons of ro water to fill up tank, it is a tight fit that's for sure, in about 2 more days I should be able to start again, how you like your new skimmer, did u get the reactor ?. I have the reactor, but I not really familiar with those so for now I will only run skimmer, will see later if I get to use or not, I need to do some reading on reactors

I did not buy the pellet reactor.
The main reason is that my tank has been very stable for years.
Everything that is in it now was in a 180 for 7+ years and now in the 240 for 6 years.
I can see the need in newer tanks, but not in this one.

Found some water on the lip of my tank stand last Sunday-Monday. 
And it didn't come from the top of the tank.
I looked at the bulkheads, searched everywhere I could think of.
So, I knew it was probably terminal.
Today I stripped all of the plastic molding off the front of the tank. Glasscages makes absolutely terrible molding.
Found two things.
First I found this.
That's like a rock chip you would see on your cars windshield.
So, did that cause this?
There are dripping at a rate of 1 every 4-5 seconds.
The drip is actually about 16" away from the chip.
And it didn't come from the top of the tank.

The chip doesn't penetrate the glass though does it? If not a spider, will not run.

It doesn't penetrate through to the front of the glass. On the front pane.
I can't see where it goes down into the silicone.
It may have created a crack near the bottom that is allowing water to run along to the seam.
The drip may be something different. Just a weak spot in the silicone.
But if I were to look for a cause, that would be my guess.
The drip is steady and has been since I first saw it.
The good news, is I will be getting a new tank

Keep us posted, even though this thread started a while ago it sure as heck sparked my want for a new tank after 10 years without on.

Yeah,I am, but what a huge PITA it is to empty something like this.
My house is tiny. There really isn't a lot of extra room here to be setting up all these extra holding tanks.
Once I got the tank and sump empty, I tried moving the stand away from the wall so I could start disconnecting the plumbing, I couldn't budge it at all.
It's like it welded itself to the floor.

that and it just heavy. the tank itself is around 800 lbs and the stand another 100+. one person can not move that system.
